PRESS RELEASE: MARC LEVINE TO BE INDUCTED INTO NEW YORK STATE BASEBALL HALL OF FAME

FLUSHING, N.Y., December 16, 2024 – The New York State Baseball Hall of Fame announced today that Mets Team Photographer Marc Levine will be posthumously inducted into the 2025 class. The announcement was made by New York State Baseball Hall of Fame Executive Director, Rene LeRoux.

Levine unexpectedly passed away earlier this year. For more than three and half decades, he documented every Mets moment and photographed over 2,000 players. Levine was the longest tenured photographer in team history and the first base photo well was dedicated in his honor last season with a plaque recognizing his contributions to the organization.

"Marc's body of work was just amazing," said LeRoux. "It's easy to see from his photos how much he loved the game and people around Major League Baseball had nothing but respect and admiration for the way he did his job."

"I was fortunate to have Marc photograph my entire career," said David Wright. "He became a dear friend, who would do anything for anybody. What a great honor and so well deserved."

The New York State Baseball Hall of Fame will host the 2025 induction ceremony on November 9 in Troy, NY. This will mark the 15th induction class. Additional Mets in the NYSBHOF include: Mookie Wilson, Darryl Strawberry, Bobby Ojeda, Keith Hernandez, Ron Darling, Cleon Jones, Ed Kranepool, Tommie Agee, Ron Swoboda, Howard Johnson, broadcasters Gary Cohen and Howie Rose and front office executives Jay Horwitz, Shannon Forde and Lorraine Hamilton.
