Bill Ladson Mets.com: Walker ready for 2022; eyes rotation spot. "Last year, Walker had a Jekyll and Hyde season. He made his first All-Star appearance after going 7-3 with a 2.66 ERA and 95 strikeouts across 94 2/3 innings during the first half. The second half, however, was not as kind to him. Walker was hit hard. He recorded a 7.13 ERA and was winless in 13 starts."

NY Post: New Met Starling Marte right-field experiment begins now. "Marte...will be asked to play right field in this new-look Mets outfield...'It will be different because I have never played there in the major leagues, so I will see how comfortable I am,' Marte said Saturday."

MLB Trade Rumors: Mets Checking In On Free Agent Tony Watson. "The Mets have one of the more improved rosters of the offseason, but Watson would fill one of their few remaining holes. The 36-year-old has quietly been one of the more consistent lefty relievers in the game over the last decade." Tony will turn 37 on May 30 - 7-4, 3.92 ERA; 62 games, 57.1 innings, 44 Ks; 1.012 WHIP;

NY Post: Mark Canha talks minor league struggle, new Mets teammates, ‘weird’ personality.  Steve Serby does his Q&A with Mark who gives his impressions on Buck, deGrom, Sherzer and Pete Alonso who he says: "A great hitter. I love watching him and listening to him talk about baseball, because I haven’t heard too many guys that talk like him about the swing. There’s a method to the madness with him. It’s fun for me to hear that and hear guys’ different perspectives and try to pick what you like and try to pick these guys’ brains."

Mike Lupica Mets.com: Lindor plans to use lessons of 2021 to fuel rebound in '22. Mets shortstop: 'Hitting the reset button would mean forgetting all the things I learned last season. And I learned a lot.'

Bill Madden NY Daily News: Buck Showalter digs in on changing the culture of the Mets. "What has become most obvious to the Mets players this spring is that have probably never had a manager more detail-oriented than Showalter."

Deesha Thosar NY Daily News: Robinson Cano is feeling stronger, but he’s facing less playing time. "{Cano] he stressed that he focused on improving the strength in his legs, which has been a theme for the 39-year-old these past few seasons...Showalter has expressed that Cano can significantly improve the team’s chances of qualifying for the playoffs for the first time in six years; all he has to do is stay healthy."

Mike's Mets: Early Throughts from Spring Training. Some good points about the Mets starting rotation included.

Mets360: Did the Mets add enough to their bullpen?

213 Miles from Shea: Get To Know A Non-Roster Invitee: Rob Zastryzny. "He’s been impressive in Mets camp so far, tossing 3.0 perfect innings while striking out 5 batters. Being a lefty is an advantage in the Mets system – the Mets desperately need a lefty specialist."
