Mets.com: "The veteran right-hander, who had been 0-3 with a 6.39 ERA over six previous starts in the Mile High City, gave up one run on six hits, walking none and striking out a season-high eight on 102 pitches as Scherzer completed seven innings for the first time this season."
Metstradamus: "Nimmo and Lindor went BB/HR to start the game (scoring first makes a huge difference with this team too), and Nimmo would end up with three walks and two triples while Lindor would drive home four runs to give the Mets everything they needed offensively."

NY Post: Unlucky Seventh - Piazza's Error, Bad Inning Sink Mets. "The Mets last night owned a three-run lead after six innings with a rested bullpen ready...the Mets turned prosperity into calamity, watching a three-run lead morph into a three-run deficit and an eventual 7-4 loss. They allowed six runs (only one earned). Ran through four pitchers. Committed two errors...The most damaging...from Mike Piazza. The converted first baseman committed his fourth miscue of the year at his new position...With runners on first and second, one out, and the Mets clinging to a 3-2 lead, Chase Utley smashed a hard shot to Piazza for a potential double play. Piazza made a nifty grab, turned, fired to Kaz Matsui covering second to get the forceout . . . and promptly whipped the ball into left field. Tie game. Three more runs later, thoughts of a sweep were gone."
