The Syracuse Mets have released Gosuke Katoh.
The Mets claimed Katoh on waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays on May 7th. He was picked up as a insurance piece in case one of the Major League Infielders became injured.
He did get an MLB callup on May 17th but did not see any play time with the NY Mets and was sent back to Syracuse on May 21st.
With Syracuse he hit 9 HRs, 32 RBIs, .223/.310/.383 - .693 OPS.
He was also named the International League Player of the Week for the week of July 4-July 11. "Katoh hit .435 (10-for-23) with eight RBIs, four home runs, three doubles, and a .519 on-base...This [was] the first time that Katoh...won a weekly league award."
