a solo home run by LF Jared McKenzie and won on an RBI single from 1B
Leandro Emiliani...Brooklyn trailed, 6-4, entering the 9th...Cyclones took
the lead on a wild pitch and a 2-run double by SS Kevin Kendall...CF Stanley
Consuegra cracked a 2-run home run for Brooklyn in the 1st...RF Jeremy
De La Rosa put Wilmington ahead with a 3-run shot in the 3rd...De La Rosa

FEELING BULL-ISH: The Cyclones’ bullpen has been dominant over
the last 6 games...Dating back to Sunday, Brooklyn relief pitchers have
permitted just 5 runs (4 earned) over 31.1 innings (1.15 ERA)...In that span,
Cyclones relievers have surrendered just 20 hits, walked 10, and struck out
34...Entering play on Saturday, Brooklyn holds the 2nd-best bullpen ERA (3.59)
in the South Atlantic League...Only Rome’s (3.26) relief arms have posted a
better earned run average.
NONE SHALL PASS: LHP Daniel Juárez has been as dominant
as can be out of the bullpen for the Cyclones in 2023...In his first 10 outings
of the campaign, the southpaw holds a 2-0 record with 1 save...He has not
permitted a run on 4 hits and 4 walks, striking out 17 (13.12 K/9)...In 15 regular
season appearances with the ‘Clones dating back to last season, Juárez has
yielded only 1 unearned run in 16.0 innings...The 22-year-old has not
surrendered an earned run in 23 straight appearances dating back to last
year...Juárez last allowed earned runs on June 22, 2022, with Single-A St.
Lucie at Palm Beach...Since then, he is 4-0 with 9 hits allowed, 13 walks, and
32 strikeouts in 26.1 innings...Since the streak began, no pitcher in Minor
League Baseball has thrown more innings without allowing an earned run.
WIZARD OF OS: C Drake Osborn enters Saturday’s
fixture on a season-long 5-game on-base streak...Since registering his first
multi-hit game as a Cyclone on May 3 vs. Aberdeen, the 24-year-old is 5-for-17
at the plate (.294) with 2 runs scored, a double, a home run, 2 RBI, and 2
walks...Osborn holds a .898 OPS since the streak began.
SAY HEY, JAY: IF/OF Jaylen Palmer has reached base
safely in 8-straight games entering Saturday...Dating back to May 3 vs.
Aberdeen, the 22-year-old is 7-for-27 at the dish (.259) with a .708
OPS...Palmer has picked up 5 runs scored, 2 doubles, driven in a tally, and
walked 5 times...The Canarsie native is also 4-for-5 on stolen base attempts in
that span...Palmer is also 7-for-7 on stolen base attempts against Wilmington
in 2023 and tied for the team lead with 13.
ESTEP UP: INF Chase Estep has broken out of a
major slump in a big way...Since Estep clobbered a towering 2-run home run to
right field last Friday night vs. Aberdeen, the former 9th-round pick out of Kentucky
has reached base safely in each of his last 6 games...Estep is
7-for-his-last-21 (.333) with 4 runs scored, 2 doubles, a home run, 3 RBI, and
2 walks...He holds a .963 OPS in that span.
NEW MONTH, NEW MAN: C Kevin Parada has been on a tear since
the calendar flipped to May...In 9 games during the season’s second month, the
21-year-old is slashing .303/.378/.576 with a .954 OPS...Parada is 10-for-33 at
the dish (.303) with 5 runs scored, 4 doubles, a triple, a home run, and 5
RBI...In that time frame, the Los Angeles native holds a .420 wOBA and a 148
wRC+...In the month of May, Parada is tied for 4th in the South Atlantic League
in doubles (4) and tied for 5th in extra-base hits (6).
ALEX SMACKS: OF Alex RamÃrez had his
team-season-long 19-game on-base streak snapped in game one on Wednesday but
has reached in 20-of-21 games dating back to April 12...In that span, RamÃrez
is slashing .305/.380/.378 with a .758 OPS and a 110 wRC+...Alex is 25-for-82
at the dish with 9 runs scored, 4 extra-base hits, 1 home run, 14 RBI, 8 walks,
and 4 stolen bases in 5 attempts...Since joining Brooklyn’s roster on July 4 of
last year, RamÃrez leads the South Atlantic League in RBI (50), hits (91), and
doubles (21)...He only trails teammate OF Stanley Consuegra in extra-base
hits (28) and total bases (132).
STU-PENDOUS: RHP Tyler Stuart has been as
consistent as any starting pitcher in the SAL in 2023...The 23-year-old punched
out a career-high 9 batters over 5 innings in a no-decision last Tuesday vs.
Aberdeen, adding 2.0 more shutout frames on Sunday...Entering Saturday, Stuart
would lead the league in ERA (1.74), if he had enough innings to qualify...He
would also be 6th in batting average against (.200)...The right-hander is also
2nd in xFIP (3.19) and 4th in strikeout rate (35.3%) plus strikeouts per nine
innings (13.06).
