The Brooklyn Cyclones (11-18) close out their series against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (16-15) — the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals — on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. from Frawley Stadium.

RHP Christian Scott (0-0, 6.75) — the Mets’ No. 26 prospect per MLB Pipeline — is scheduled to take the hill for Brooklyn against Wilmington’s LHP Andrew Alvarez (1-1, 3.04)

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn dropped their second-straight game in walk-off fashion, 3-2, to Wilmington on Saturday night...CF Jacob Young slapped the game-winning single in the bottom of the 9th...C Drake Osborn hammered a 2-run home run for the Cyclones in the 2nd...Blue Rocks tied it on a Young single and throwing error in the 7th...Young went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles and a walk...RHP Tyler Stuart tossed 5.0 shutout innings for Brooklyn in a no-decision...Wilmington RHP Chance Huff hurled a career-high 7.0 innings in a no-decision...RHP Todd Peterson went 2.0 scoreless and earned the win for the Blue Rocks. 

 

FEELING BULL-ISH: Dating back to last Sunday, Brooklyn relief pitchers have permitted just 8 runs (6 earned) over 35.0innings (1.54 ERA)...In that span, Cyclones relievers have surrendered just 23 ­hits, walked 13, and struck out 39...Entering play on Sunday, Brooklyn holds the 2nd-best bullpen ERA (3.63) in the South Atlantic League...Only Rome’s (3.19) relief arms have posted a better earned run average.  

 

STU-PER DUPER: RHP Tyler Stuart has been as consistent as any starting pitcher in the SAL in 2023...The 23-year-old extended his scoreless inning streak to 8.0 innings with 5.0 scoreless frames at Wilmington on Saturday...Entering Sunday, Stuart leads the league in ERA (1.40)...He is also tied for 6th in batting average against (.202)...The right-hander is also 4th in strikeout rate (32.1%) and 5th in xFIP (3.45) and strikeouts per nine innings (11.92). 

 

NONE SHALL PASS: LHP Daniel Juárez has been as dominant as can be out of the bullpen for the Cyclones in 2023...In his first 10 outings of the campaign, the southpaw holds a 2-0 record with 1 save...He has not permitted a run on 4 hits and 4 walks, striking out 17 (13.12 K/9)...In 15 regular season appearances with the ‘Clones dating back to last season, Juárez has yielded only 1 unearned run in 16.0 innings...The 22-year-old has not surrendered an earned run in 23 straight appearances dating back to last year...Juárez last allowed earned runs on June 22, 2022, with Single-A St. Lucie at Palm Beach...Since then, he is 4-0 with 9 hits allowed, 13 walks, and 32 strikeouts in 26.1 innings...Since the streak began, no pitcher in Minor League Baseball has thrown more innings without allowing an earned run. 

 

JUMPIN’ JOE: OF/1B Joe Suozzi comes into Sunday’s series finale riding a season-high-tying 4-game hitting streak...The Glen Cove, N.Y. native is 4-for-his-last-13 (.308) with 2 runs scored, a double, 2 RBI, and a walk...Suozzi has registered a .742 OPS in those 4 contests...Dating back to April 26 at Jersey Shore, the 25-year-old has registered at least one base knock in 8-of-10 games. 

 

WIZARD OF OS: C Drake Osborn enters Sunday’s fixture on a season-long 6-game on-base streak...Since registering his first multi-hit game as a Cyclone on May 3 vs. Aberdeen, the 24-year-old is 6-for-21 at the plate (.286) with 3 runs scored, a double, 2 home runs, 4 RBI, and 2 walks...Osborn holds a .967 OPS since the streak began
