The Brooklyn Cyclones (13-20) look to match their longest winning streak of the season against the Hudson Valley Renegades (22-14) — the High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees — on Friday evening at 6:05 p.m. from Heritage Financial Park.

RHP Joander Suárez (0-2, 9.00) is scheduled to take the hill for Brooklyn against Hudson Valley’s RHP Juan Carela (1-1, 4.68)

BREAK OUT THE RYE BREAD: 3B Mateo Gil’s grand slam in the top of the 6th inning marked the first 4-RBI home run by a Cyclone in 2023...It marked Brooklyn’s first grand slam since 1B JT Schwartz smashed one off RHP Ryan Miller at Hudson Valley on July 27, 2022...Last season, the Cyclones smashed a pair of grand salamis...CF Jaylen Palmer hammered the first off RHP Alex Pham vs. Aberdeen on June 12. 

 

RAMÍ ROCKETS: OF Alex Ramírez reached base 4 times and tied a season-high with 3 hits on Thursday night at Hudson Valley...The 20-year-old doubled twice, worked a walk, scored a run, and drove in another...It was Ramírez’s first multi-extra base hit game since he doubled twice on August 25, 2022, at Jersey Shore...Since joining Brooklyn’s roster on July 4 of last year, Ramírez leads the South Atlantic League in RBI (52), hits (95), and doubles (23)...He only trails teammate OF Stanley Consuegra in extra-base hits (31) and total bases (141). 

 

LUGO LAND: INF William Lugo comes into Friday’s matchup riding a season-high 5-game hitting streak...The 21-year-old tallied his first multi-hit game of the season on Wednesday afternoon and is 6-for-his-last-19 (.316) during the stretch...Lugo has tallied 5 runs scored, a double, a triple, and an RBI, adding 2 walks and a stolen base...The Dominican native has also reached base safely in 7-consecutive contests dating back to May 10...Lugo is slashing .304/.429/.435 with a .863 OPS and a 141 wRC+ in that span.
