ESTEP UP: INF Chase Estep has broken out of a major slump in a big way...Over a 9-game span between April 12 and May 2, the Corbin, Ky. native was 0-for-32 at the plate with 3 runs scored, an RBI, 3 walks, and 14 strikeouts...Estep ended that stretch with a towering 2-run home run to right field on Friday night...Over his last 2 games, the former Kentucky Wildcat is 3-for-6 at the dish with 2 runs scored, a double, a home run, 2 RBI and a walk.

STU-PENDOUS: RHP Tyler Stuart has been as consistent as any starting pitcher in the SAL in 2023...The 23-year-old punched out a career-high 9 batters over 5 innings in a no-decision on Tuesday vs. Aberdeen, adding 2.0 more shutout frames on Sunday...Entering Tuesday, Stuart trails only Wilmington’s RHP Kyle Luckham (1.29) for the league lead in ERA (1.74)...He is also 5th in batting average against (.200), and 10th in WHIP (1.21) and strikeouts (30)...The right-hander is also 3rd in xFIP (3.21) and 4th in strikeout rate (35.3%) plus strikeouts per nine innings (13.06).

TIDWELL’S SHARP BLADE: RHP Blade Tidwell set a career-high and a team-season-best with 10 strikeouts over 5.1 innings vs. Aberdeen on Thursday night...The 21-year-old is the first Cyclone pitcher to register 10-plus punch outs in a single game since RHP Carson Seymour struck out 10 hitters on July 22, 2022, at Jersey Shore...Tidwell was the first Brooklyn arm to whiff 10 at home since RHP Dominic Hamel accomplished the feat with 10 Ks on July 16, 2022, vs. Greensboro.

SPEED DEMONS: Brooklyn has habitually swiped bases in 2023...Coming into Tuesday’s matchup, OF Omar De Los Santos is tied for 5th in the SAL with 13 and IF/OF Jaylen Palmer is tied for 7th with 11...More importantly, both are a combined 24-for-25 on attempts...The ‘Clones are tied for 9th in the league with 40 team stolen bases but have the 3rd-best success rate in the SAL at .851...Only Hudson Valley (.875) and Aberdeen (.873) have stolen bags more successfully...Brooklyn has been caught stealing a league-low 7 times this year...Aberdeen and Hudson Valley are 2nd with 8 runners caught.

OMNIPRESENT OMAR: In addition to his 13 stolen bases in 13 attempts in 2023, OF Omar De Los Santos remains among the best base stealers in Minor League Baseball since the beginning of 2022...The 23-year-old has accumulated 83 stolen bases in that span, which is 4th most in MiLB...Only Red Sox prospect INF David Hamilton (90), Athletics OF Esteury Ruíz (85), and Marlins farmhand INF Nasim Núñez (84) have tallied more...De Los Santos has also snagged 50 more bases than any other Mets prospect in that time...Fellow Cyclone IF/OF Jaylen Palmer is 2nd with 33...Omar is already 19 swipes shy of matching INF Walter Rasquin’s franchise record for single-season stolen bases (32) which was set back in 2017.
