Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (16-6, 44-43) go for a series victory against the Hudson Valley Renegades (10-12, 49-39) — the High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees — on Saturday night at 6:05 p.m. from Heritage Financial Park in Wappingers Falls, N.Y. 

RHP Joander Suárez (3-6, 6.17) is scheduled to toe the slab for Brooklyn against the Yankees' No. 6 prospect per MLB Pipeline, Hudson Valley's RHP Drew Thorpe (9-1, 2.27).

LAST TIME OUT: The Cyclones rallied to stun the Renegades, 8-7, on Friday night at Heritage Financial Park...Down a run entering the 9th, Brooklyn took the lead thanks to run-scoring singles by CF Rhylan Thomas and C Kevin Parada, as well as a ground out...Hudson Valley scored on an error in the bottom of the 9th, but 3B William Lugo made a diving stop on a 3B Marcos Cabrera ground ball to get a force at 2nd base to end the game...LHP Eli Ankeney registered the final 2 outs for his first career save...All 9 Cyclones in the lineup picked up at least 1 hit...LF Alex Ramírez robbed a home run in the 2nd and set a franchise record with a 6-for-6 night at the plate with 3 runs scored, 3 stolen bases, and an RBI...RF Stanley Consuegra, DH Chase Estep, SS Junior Tilien, and Thomas all tallied multi-hit performances...Thomas and Lugo each drove in 2...2B D'Andre Smith also recorded an inside-the-park home run in the 7th...CF Spencer Jones and RF Christopher Familia had 3-hit nights for Hudson Valley, with the latter driving in 2...1B Spencer Henson clubbed a solo home run for the 'Gades in the 2nd. 

 

I  GOT YOUR SIX: OF Alex Ramírez became the first player in Cyclones history to record a 6-hit game with a 6-for-6 performance on Friday night at Hudson Valley...The 20-year-old also stole 3 bases, scored 3 runs, drove in a tally, and robbed 3B Marcos Cabrera of a home run in the 2nd inning...Ramírez is 1-of-5 players in Minor League Baseball to compose a 6-hit game in 2023...Alex is the first player in Minor League Baseball since the stat portal began in 2005 to record 6+ hits and 3+ stolen bases in a single game...Ramírez is the first Cyclone with 5+ hits in a game since 2B Luke Ritter went 5-for-6 vs. Lowell on June 28, 2019...He is 1-of-2 players in franchise history (since 2005) with 5+ hits and 3+ stolen bases in a single game...CF Gregory González went 5-for-6 and stole 3 bases on August 18, 2005, vs. Williamsport... Since the start of June, Alex is tied for the South Atlantic League lead in runs scored (32), 3rd in pitches-per-plate appearance (4.035), and tied for 4th in walks (24) (min. 170 PA)...Ramírez is scattered among the Cyclones' all-time leaderboard despite joining the team last July 4...Entering Saturday, the Dominican native is 3rd in franchise history in RBI (72) and is 19 behind INF José Peroza (91) for the all-time mark...He is 2nd in doubles (31), 3rd in hits (135), tied for 3rd in total bases (198) with OF Antoine Duplantis and 4th in runs scored (72). 

 

DE RECORD SETTER: OF Omar De Los Santos entered as a pinch-runner and stole second base on Friday night at Hudson Valley, giving him 33 stolen bases in 2023...The 33 swipes break INF Walter Rasquin's franchise record for single-season stolen bases (32) which was set back in 2017 when Brooklyn played in the short-season New York-Penn League...He is also 3rd in the SAL in stolen bases for 2023...De Los Santos remains among the best base stealers in Minor League Baseball since the beginning of 2022...The Dominican native has accumulated 102 stolen bases in that span, which is 5th most in MiLB...Only D'Backs prospect OF Wilderd Patiño (108), Mariners farmhand OF Jonatan Clasé (108), Aberdeen OF Luis Valdez (108), and Marlins farmhand INF Nasim Núñez (105) have tallied more...De Los Santos has also snagged 61 more bases than any other Mets prospect in that time...Fellow 2023 Cyclone IF/OF Jaylen Palmer is 2nd with 42. 

 

AROUND THE CAROUSEL: 2B D'Andre Smith picked up his first home run as a Cyclone with an inside-the-parker in the 7th on Friday night at Hudson Valley...It was the 2nd inside-the-park home run clubbed by Brooklyn in 2023...C Kevin Parada capped his first career multi-home run game with a 2-run inside-the-park home run in the 6th inning of June 23's win vs. Hudson Valley...They are the first 2 inside-the-park home runs by Cyclones players since Minor League Baseball's stat portal began in the 2005 season...The first one in franchise history was clubbed by Joe Jiannetti on July 19, 2001. 

 

THE .500 CLUB: With Brooklyn's victory on Friday night, the Cyclones jumped over .500 on the season at 44-43...Brooklyn had not been over .500 since the 3rd game of the season...The Cyclones moved to 2-1 with a 4-2 win vs. Jersey Shore to close out the season-opening homestand on April 9. 

 

WE'RE GOING STREAKING: Brooklyn has won 11-of-14 (.786) and 17-of-23 (.739) going into Saturday's contest...The Cyclones are 16-6 in the second half and lead the North Division of the SAL by half a game over Aberdeen (15-6)...Brooklyn is percentage points (.727) behind Hickory (15-5; .750) for the best record in the circuit during the half. 

 

COMEBACK 'CLONES: Brooklyn earned their 17th come-from-behind victory and 11th win in their final at-bat with an 8-7 win at Hudson Valley on Friday night...Friday night marked Brooklyn's second win in 2023 when trailing after 8 innings...The first came in July 7's win at Wilmington...The Cyclones came from 4 runs down to earn the victory on July 4, matching their largest deficit erased on the campaign...The 'Clones erased a 4-0 margin entering the 5th and a 4-1 deficit going into the 7th...Brooklyn also erased a 4-run ledger on Opening Day — April 7 — vs. Jersey Shore...The Cyclones trailed 4-0 after the 1st inning that day, ultimately topping the BlueClaws, 9-8, in 11 innings. 

 

HIT 'EM UP: The Cyclones tallied a season-high 18 hits in their 8-7 win at Hudson Valley on Friday night...The 18 knocks were the most by Brooklyn in a single game since they accrued 19 hits in a 20-6 win at Bowling Green on May 27, 2022...The Cyclones' offense has racked up double-digit hits in 6 of their last 13 games dating back to July 4's series opener at Wilmington...Since that date, Brooklyn is 10-3 and averages 9.46 hits-per-game and 5.38 runs-per-contest. 

 

SUPER STAFF: Since the start of a 4-game winning streak at Hudson Valley on May 17, the Cyclones' pitching staff has, statistically, been the most dominant in Minor League Baseball...Entering Saturday, Brooklyn has posted a MiLB-low 2.75 ERA (149 ER in 488.0 IP) over their last 56 games, holding a 33-23 record in that span...The Cubs' Single-A Myrtle Beach (3.18) is 2nd in the minors and trails the 'Clones by nearly half a run (0.43)...The Cyclones have hurled 6 shutouts in that span and hold a strikeout rate of 28.0% and a walk rate of 11.3%...Additionally, Brooklyn pitching has permitted fewer home runs (21) than any other squad and holds the lowest opposing OPS (.606), in addition to the 3rd lowest hits-per-9 innings (6.71) in that time period...RHPs Blade Tidwell (1.70) and Tyler Stuart (1.71) hold the 2nd and 3rd best ERA's in MiLB during that time (min. 50.0 IP). 

 

RED HOT RELIEF: The Cyclones' relief staff has been exquisite at quelling fires in 2023...Entering Saturday, Brooklyn has the best bullpen ERA (3.14) in the entire South Atlantic League and throughout Minor League Baseball...The Rangers' Single-A Down East (3.16) is 2nd in MiLB, while Hudson Valley (3.52) is 2nd in the circuit.
