BOX SCORE

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (July 1, 2023) - Despite multi-hit days from both CF Alex Ramírez and LF Abraham Almonte, the Brooklyn Cyclones fell at the hands of the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, 4-0. The loss is only Brooklyn’s second loss of the second half, dropping them to 5-2 since the halfway point.

Two MLB rehabbers took to the mound for the Cyclones in the defeat. RHP Elieser Hernandez started and took the loss, allowing one unearned run over two frames, while striking out three. A few frames later, RHP Sean Reid-Foley gave up one run - a solo home run from 3B Nick Ward - over two-thirds of an inning.

Each of Jersey Shore’s four runs came in separate frames. The BlueClaws started out hot with a sacrifice fly from 1B Rixon Wingrove in the top of the first, plating 2B Hao-Yu Lee.

Three frames later, Ward took Reid-Foley deep to double the BlueClaw lead. The long ball was the first earned run Reid-Foley surrendered during his five rehab outings.

In the fifth, the BlueClaws logged their second sacrifice fly of the night. This time around, it was C Aramis Garcia who lifted a ball to deep center, scoring CF Jared Carr.

Garcia continued his impressive night later on in the seventh, with an RBI double to plate DH Gabriel Rincones Jr.

The Cyclones and BlueClaws are back at it on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from Maimonides Park, for the fifth of a six game set. RHP Joander Suarez (3-5, 6.70 ERA) takes the mound for the ‘Clones, opposing LHP Rafael Marcano (3-5, 4.57 ERA).
