Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (25-15, 53-52) will try and secure a series victory against the Aberdeen IronBirds (18-21, 50-53) — the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles — on Saturday at 6 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island. 

RHP Cameron Foster (4-6, 4.20 ERA) is scheduled to take the hill for Brooklyn against the Orioles’ No. 26 prospect per Baseball America, Aberdeen’s RHP Juan Núñez (0-2, 4.73 ERA).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn tossed its 9th shutout of the season in a 5-0 victory vs. Aberdeen on Friday night...LF Ryan Clifford and C Drake Osborn each powered solo home runs in the 1st and 2nd innings, respectively...RF Alex Ramírez roped a 2-run triple to right-center and Clifford added a run-scoring knock in the 5th...Clifford and Osborn each posted multi-hit nights, while Clifford and Ramírez composed multi-RBI games...2B Frederick Bencosme collected 2 of Aberdeen's 3 hits...RHP Joander Suárez tossed 6.0 innings of 3-hit shutout ball and struck out a career-high 11 to earn the win...RHP Brendan Hardy hurled 3.0 hitless innings of relief for his 1st save. 

TIME TO MAKE THE DONUTS: Brooklyn collected their 9th shutout win of the season with a 5-0 blanking of Aberdeen on Friday night...2 different pitchers combined on the 3-hit shutout...RHPs Joander Suárez (6.0 IP) and Brendan Hardy (3.0) united to blank the IronBirds...3 of Brooklyn's 9 shutouts have come against Aberdeen...The 13 strikeouts were the most for the 'Clones in a shutout since they whiffed in an 8-0 victory at Jersey Shore on May 30...It was the Cyclones’ first shutout since a 3-0 victory vs. Wilmington on July 26...Brooklyn has surpassed their shutout total from 2022 (7)...Since 2005, Brooklyn's record for shutouts in a season is 10 on 4 occasions...It last happened over 76 games in the New York-Penn League in 2014. 

DIAL IT UP TO TEN: RHP Joander Suárez became the 5th different Cyclone pitcher to strike out 10 or more batters in a game in 2023 when he whiffed 11 IronBirds on Friday night...RHP Jordany Ventura punched out 10 vs. Aberdeen on Wednesday, RHP Cameron Foster K'd 12 vs. Wilmington on July 29, RHP Tyler Stuart struck out 11 vs. Hudson Valley on June 22, and RHP Blade Tidwell accomplished the feat on 4 separate occasions...Only Greenville has had more pitchers (6) strike out 10-plus hitters in a game this year (RHP Ángel Bastardo [2x], RHP Isaac Coffey [3x], RHP Hunter Dobbins, RHP Wikelman González [3x], LHP Dalton Rogers  RHP Luis Perales)...Since 2005, only one other Brooklyn squad had 5 different arms punch out 10 or more in a single game during a season...In 2013, LHP Dario Álvarez (12; 7/24 @ LOW), RHP Miller Díaz (11; 8/23 @ VER), RHP Robert Gsellman (13; 8/24 @ VER), RHP Dawrin Frías (11; 8/27 vs. TRI), and RHP John Gant (7/26 @ ABD). 

BIG RED DAWG: OF Ryan Clifford was added to Brooklyn's roster on August 3...The 20-year-old was acquired by the New York Mets with OF Drew Gilbert from the Houston Astros in exchange for RHP Justin Verlander on August 1...The 2022 11th-round pick enters Saturday ranked 2nd in the South Atlantic League in slugging percentage (.531)...He is also 3rd in OPS (.881) and tied for 3rd in home runs (18)...Among players with at least 250 plate appearances, Clifford is 1st in isolated power (.267), 5th in OPS (.881), and 6th in wOBA (.387) and wRC+ (134).
