NY Post: "The Mets are bringing in former Cubs bench coach Andy Green in a senior role for player development and reportedly plucking Kris Gross from the Astros for a role in amateur scouting...According to the Astros,'Since [Gross] joined the Astros scouting staff, the club has produced more players (58) via the draft than any other Major League organization.'"

The Athletic: "The Mets are hiring longtime Houston Astros scouting director Kris Gross to oversee their amateur scouting department, league sources to The Athletic on Saturday morning....Additionally, the Mets are adding Andy Green, formerly the Cubs’ bench coach, as a senior executive running player development, league sources said." SNY.TV: "During his playing days, Green made four of his 140 big league appearances with the Mets in 2009. He began his coaching career in the minors in 2012 before serving as the third base coach with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the club he began his big league career with."

David Lennon Newsday: It's a no-brainer: Willie Randolph should be Carlos Mendoza's bench coach. "Randolph’s previous Mets tenure makes for a sentimental back story, an “unfinished business” vibe, and gives him some Flushing street cred. But that’s secondary to what he has to offer as bench coach. For Mendoza, it definitely would help to have someone beside him who’s been there before (at Shea Stadium rather than Citi Field) as well as a trusted confidant from their time together with the Yankees."

MLB Trade Rumors: "Severino’s career got off to such a promising start that the Yankees signed him to a four-year, $40MM extension prior to the 2019 season...He pitched only 18 total big league innings from 2019-21, primarily due to Tommy John surgery but with shoulder, lat, and groin problems also contributing to those three lost years."
