Report: Mets to sign Joey Wendle

Robert Murray on X/Twitter reports that the Mets have signed free agent infielder Joey Wendle.  Pat Ragazzo on X/Twitter reports that the deal is for one year, $2M.  

Wendle, who will turn 34 next April, played the last two years for the Florida Marlins hitting .212/.248/.306 in 112 games, 297 at-bats.

In his 8 year career he has slashed .263/.312/.386.  

Some would say that he is a older version of Luis Guillorme who slashed .261/.344/.333 in his 6 MLB seasons.  

While Wendle played strictly SS last year in Miami, he also has played 3B, 2B, in the Last few years and some outfield for Tampa Bay in 2018 (17 games) and 2019 (1 game).

With today's two signings, the Mets 40 Man Roster now stands at 30 players.
