Brian Joura Mets360: "Edwin Diaz blew the save in the ninth inning and Jake Diekman couldn’t hold the lead in the 10th, as the Mets fell to the Rays, 7-6, Sunday afternoon. The Rays swept the three-game series and the Mets have now lost eight straight games in Tampa."

NY Post: Edwin Diaz blows save as Mets lose to Rays in extras for gut-wrenching sweep "After two quick outs in the ninth and with a one-run lead, Diaz tried a full-count slider to Arozarena, aiming down and away. It was down but in the middle of the plate, a mistake that was rocketed 373 feet to left for a stunning, game-tying home run."

Abbey Mastracco NY Daily News: Rays finish sweep off Mets with come-from-behind win in extra innings. "The Mets led 5-4 for most of the game and had plenty of opportunities to pad the lead but the big hit never came. They left 13 men on base and went 4-for-16 with runners in scoring position."

SNY.TV: Mets allow seven stolen bases, lose to Rays in extras. "Leaving men on base killed the Mets in this game. They had a prime opportunity to take the lead in the third inning: after a Starling Marte liner hit off of Pepiot's leg and knocked him out of the game, the Mets had the bases loaded and nobody out. A DJ Stewart walk with two outs tied the game, but the Mets left three runners on in a huge spot."

Anthony Rieber Newsday: Mets, swept by Rays, need Pete Alonso to start producing. "Alonso went 1-for-12 this weekend. He has that one hit in his last 29 at-bats. He is batting .206."
