Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

After the All-Star break, the Brooklyn Cyclones (7-14, 40-47) return to Coney Island for a nine-game homestand starting with three games against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws (11-10, 49-38) — the High-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies — at 7 p.m. on Friday from Maimonides Park in Brooklyn, N.Y.

RHP Jonah Tong (3-2, 2.85) — the New York Mets’ No. 15 prospect per Baseball America — is scheduled to take the hill for the Cyclones. The BlueClaws are projected to counter with LHP Braeden Fausnaught (7-2, 3.81).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn captured the final game of the series in shutout fashion, blanking the Blue Rocks, 5-0, last Sunday...The victory ties the mark for shutouts the 'Clones have tossed in a single season (11) set just last year...Five different arms had a hand in the win including RHPs Jonathan Pintaro (1.0 IP), Jawilme Ramirez (2.2), Jake Stevenson (0.1), Jack Wenninger (3.0), and Ben Simon (2.0)...Ramírez earned the win, while Wenninger accrued a hold...Wilmington was held in check all night, logging only six hits...Offensively for Brooklyn, 1B Mateo Gil's grand slam in the third inning propelled the Brooklyn bats...CF Nick Morabito and SS Wilfredo Lara enjoyed multi-hit games, while DH Chris Suero also brought a run home on a sac fly.

 

THIS DATE IN CYCLONES' HISTORY: On July 19, 2001, Joe Jiannetti scampered around the bases for the first inside-the-park home run in Cyclones history...In 2012, the Cyclones scored the game’s only run on a 2B Richie Rodriguez sacrifice fly in the top of the 15th inning in a 1-0 win at Staten Island...Brooklyn won the game in the bottom of the inning on a 3-2-6 double play...in 2013, INF Justin Turner went 1-for-3 in a 2-1 loss vs. Mahoning Valley, the first of three games with the Cyclones on a Major League rehab assignment...In 2014, OF Michael Conforto made his professional debut going 1-for-4 with Brooklyn as the designated hitter against Williamsport...The 10th overall pick in the 2014 MLB Draft became the highest-drafted player to ever suit up for the Cyclones in an 8-4 win...In 2017, Brooklyn came away with a 3-1 victory vs. Staten Island on Coney Island to earn the 700th win in franchise history.
