NY Post: Francisco Lindor, Jeff McNeil’s homers fuel win over Marlins as Mets escape with series split. "On Monday night, the duo combined for three homers and five RBIs to help the Mets escape South Florida with a four-game series split with a 6-4 victory over the Marlins at loanDepot park."

Brian Joura Mets360: "Once again, David Peterson was the beneficiary of the Mets scoring runs early and often. He allowed 11 baserunners in 5 IP yet danced around to only allow 2 ER. He got the win and upped his mark to 5-0."

NY Post: Edwin Diaz works out of jam to close out Mets' win. 'Didn't feel nerves' "With the bases loaded Diaz got Josh Bell to hit a grounder on which Jeff McNeil considered throwing to second to start a potential game-ending double play but instead went the safe route and got the out at first with the run scoring. Diaz then retired Jake Burger to end the game with runners on second and third."

Tim Healey Newsday: Mets hold on in ninth inning to earn series split from Marlins. "Up next is a stretch in New York that... represents perhaps their most important of the season. It’ll be nine games in nine days against the Yankees (two in the Bronx), Atlanta (four) and the Twins (three). The deadline for teams to swap players is 6 p.m. next Tuesday, right before the second game against Minnesota."

Tim Healey Newsday: Phil Maton got positive perception of Mets from Justin Verlander. "Upon Verlander’s return to Houston last summer, after spending most of the season with the Mets, he spoke highly of his experiences with the club, shaping Maton’s positive perception."
