The Brooklyn Cyclones (8-16, 41-49) continue a nine-game homestand and open a six-game series against the Rome Emperors (8-16, 44-44) — the High-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves — at 7 p.m. on Tuesday from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y.
RHP Jonathan Pintaro (0-3, 3.00) — who attended Shorter University in Rome, Ga. — is scheduled to take the hill for the Cyclones. The Emperors are projected to counter with RHP Cory Wall (2-3, 3.23).

THIS DATE IN CYCLONES' HISTORY: On July 23, 2016, RHP Nabil Crismatt became the first Cyclones relief pitcher to record a double-digit strikeout game, punching out 11 hitters over 5.0 innings to earn the save in a 7-2 win vs. Aberdeen...DH Pete Alonso went 2-for-2 with a walk and a two-run home run in the victory...In 2022, down 7-5 in the top of the ninth, Brooklyn took the lead on a two-out CF Alex RamÃrez grand slam in a 9-7 comeback win at Jersey Shore...In 2023, the Cyclones rallied back from 4-0 down to tie the game with a DH Omar De Los Santos grand slam in the top of the fourth...RF Stanley Consuegra clubbed a two-run shot and 1B Mateo Gil added a solo blast in the seventh to help Brooklyn win 7-4 at Hudson Valley.
ROSTER MOVES: The Cyclones made a series of roster moves on Monday...RHP Jeffrey Colón returned from Double-A Binghamton and INF D'Andre Smith was reinstated off the injured list...Additionally, OF Sebastian Castro was sent back to the Florida Complex League Mets, while RHPs Victor Castañeda and Joey Lancellotti were released by the New York Mets...Colón made three appearances with Binghamton after leaving Brooklyn on July 3, allowing two runs on eight hits in 7.0 innings, going 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA...Smith had been on Brooklyn's IL since April 13 with a hamstring injury...The 23-year-old went 7-for-34 (.206) at the plate in 10 rehab games with the FCL Mets and Single-A St. Lucie, adding for runs scored, two doubles, four runs batted in, and three stolen bases...Castro appeared in three games for the Cyclones after joining the team on July 19 and was 2-for-11 (.182) with the bat...Castañeda went 4-2 with a 6.47 ERA (23 ER in 32.0 IP), 12 walks, and 36 strikeouts in 18 relief appearances for the Cyclones in 2024...Lancellotti did not receive a decision and held a 6.14 ERA (10 ER in 14.2 IP), one save, 11 walks, and 11 strikeouts in 14 relief outings...The 26-year-old tossed a scoreless sixth inning in the Cyclones' combined no-hitter vs. Aberdeen on June 4.
