Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (18-24, 51-57) start their final in-division road series of the regular season against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (19-22, 50-57) — the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals — at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday from Judy Johnson Field at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, Del.

RHP Jack Wenninger (0-1, 3.54) — the New York Mets’ No. 27 prospect per Baseball America — is expected to get the ball for Brooklyn in the lid-lifter. The Blue Rocks are projected to counter with RHP José Atencio (2-9, 3.71).

Live coverage on the Bally Live app, MiLB.tv, and Cyclones Radio Network will begin 15 minutes before the first pitch at 6:20 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn earned a series split with a doubleheader sweep of Hudson Valley on Sunday...The Cyclones rallied to win the lid-lifter, 4-2, and led wire-to-wire in the finale, 3-1...Down 2-0 entering the bottom of the fifth in Game 1, SS William Lugo powered a game-tying two-run home run...The Cyclones took the lead in the sixth on a wild pitch and a DH D'Andre Smith RBI single...RHP Dakota Hawkins tossed 5.2 innings of two-run ball in his first appearance back with Brooklyn, while LHP Ryan Ammons retired all four batters he faced to earn his second win...In Game 2, 3B Junior Tilien started the scoring with a two-run homer in the third...1B Chris Suero provided a multi-hit game and C Christian Pregent added an insurance run with a sixth-inning sacrifice fly...RHPs Jordany Ventura (2.1 IP) and Alan Perdomo (1.0) combined to toss 3.1 innings of perfect relief, collecting the win and save, respectively.

 

THIS DATE IN CYCLONES' HISTORY: On August 13, 2009, the Cyclones erased a 1-0 eighth-inning deficit on LF Alex Gregory's Little League home run...He clubbed a game-tying double and then scored on a throwing error by the catcher...In 2011, RHPs Randy Fontanez (4.0 IP), Steve Winnick (2.0), and Todd Weldon (3.0) combined on a two-hitter in a 2-1 win at Mahoning Valley...In 2023, while making a Minor League rehab start, LHP Joey Lucchesi tossed 4.2 innings of one-hit shutout ball...He, RHP Paul Gervase (3.1 IP), and LHP Eli Ankeney (1.0) combined to three-hit Aberdeen in a 6-0 victory.


YOU SAY IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY: 2012 Brooklyn Cyclones alum RHP Hansel Robles celebrates his 34th birthday on Tuesday...In 12 starts with Brooklyn as a 21-year-old, Robles went 6-1 with a 1.11 ERA (9 ER in 72.2 IP), 47 hits, 10 walks, and 66 strikeouts...The right-hander led the New York-Penn League in ERA (1.11) and WHIP (0.78), as well as second in batting average against (.184) and fifth in strikeouts (66)...Robles became the 48th former Cyclone to appear in the Major Leagues when he debuted with the New York Mets on April 24, 2015.

 

WENN IN BROOKLYN: RHP Jack Wenninger suffered the defeat in his first start at the High-A level, but has quickly figured things out at the classification since...Over his last four appearances (three starts) since July 14 at Wilmington, the 22-year-old has no record, but a 1.72 ERA (3 ER in 15.2 IP) and one hold...Wenninger has surrendered 13 hits and nine walks while striking out 19 in that span...The Barrington, Ill. native's 1.72 ERA ranks 10th in the South Atlantic League in that time among pitchers with 15.0 or more innings of work.
