NY Post: Jeff McNeil sticking with the ‘damage’ approach that sparked his Mets turnaround. "On Sunday, McNeil took a strong cut and launched a leadoff double off the center field wall, more than 400 feet away, against Boston’s Walker Buehler. In his next at-bat, the lefty swinger pulled a well-struck single into the right-center gap. This looked like a McNeil who was looking to pound pitches rather than looking to place his batted balls where fielders were not. “You got to have the intent to do damage,” McNeil said after the 6-4 loss to the Red Sox at JetBlue Park. “...you’ve got to be ready to hit it with authority. You can’t just try to guide it out there.”

Génesis Cabrera works around a HBP to record his 2nd scoreless inning of the Spring on Sunday. A minor League free agent, the 28 year old LHP went 3 and 3 with a 3.59 ERA for Toronto last year with 50 Ks in 62.2 innings but also 10 Homers. #Mets #LGM #MetsTwitter @ernestdove… pic.twitter.com/2L0BrTZnXT

Rico Garcia with his 3rd scoreless inning of the Spring with 2 Ks. Last year the 31 year old saw time in Oakland and Washington. "The fact that he's out there competing, we're not worried about results right now. It's more about getting him feeling good physically and then working on his pitches."

Abbey Mastracco Mets Notebook: A.J. Minter throws first live bullpen session of spring. "The left-handed reliever took a key step toward a return from the injury Sunday when he threw a live bullpen session for the first time this spring. Minter will throw to hitters at least one more time before appearing in a Grapefruit League game."
Newsday: Mets' A.J. Minter progressing well but won't rush to be back by Opening Day. "In A.J. Minter’s race to be ready for Opening Day, the key is to try and not race at all...He badly wants to be with the team at the start of the season but, on Sunday, did not sound super confident that would be the case."
NY Post Sports+: Why Max Kranick’s Mets chance means the world after long, winding baseball journey. "He’s enjoyed a strong start to spring this time around, pitching four scoreless innings with three strikeouts across two outings. His velocity stands out, reaching 98 mph during his most recent appearance on Thursday against the Astros...“He’s attacking the zone, he’s aggressive,” manager Carlos Mendoza said. “The fastball has got life...that’s what we’re seeing — consistent mid-90s, throwing strikes, attacking.”
Newsday: "Joey Meneses, a first baseman/outfielder on a minor-league contract, returned to Mexico a few days ago, obtained his work visa and came back to Mets camp. He had been held up but now is cleared to play in Grapefruit League games."
David Lennon Newsday: Mets' Francisco Alvarez working on new swing in hopes of turning things around...He underwent what amounted to a swing-renovation this offseason, tinkering with a number of pressure points designed to make him a better all-fields hitter, with last year’s teammate, J.D. Martinez — the resident clubhouse batting guru — pointing him toward an Atlanta-based coach for winter workshopping."
NY Post: Mets’ David Peterson has secure rotation spot for first time at spring training. "For the first time, he’s established himself as a mainstay and knows he’s a lock for a spot in the Mets rotation...Peterson, who is expected to make his first Grapefruit League outing on Monday against the Marlins, is the longest-tenured starter on the staff and is supposed to be one of the sure entities in a rotation that is filled with question marks."
