PRESS RELEASE - METS-NATIONALS POSTPONED "It will be made up as part of a single-admission doubleheader...Tuesday, October 4 beginning at 4:10 p.m. Gates will open at 2:10 p.m. and parking lots will open at 1:10 p.m. Game two will begin approximately 30-40 minutes after the conclusion of game one."
Judge, Escobar named top players for September. This marksthe first monthly award of Escobar’s career. He became the first Mets player
since David Wright in 2010 to win an NL Player of the Month Award. Overall,
Escobar hit .340/.393/.650 with eight homers, four doubles, a triple and 24
RBIs in 26 September games. He had at least one RBI in 11 games during the
month, and the Mets went 10-1 in those games.
Freddie Freeman is 0-for-3 tonight and down to .325 on the season.

Bronx, the Twins drop a 10-4 decision to the Yankees, extending their
postseason losing streak to a major league record 14 consecutive contests.

2000: San Francisco defeats the Mets, 5 - 1, in Game 1 of their National League Division Series. Livan Hernandez gets the victory, raising his lifetime postseason play record to 5-0. Ellis Burks' three-run home run is the key hit for San Francisco.
2021 - The first manager to lose his job this off-season is Luis Rojas of the Mets, in a widely expected move - including by Rojas himself. The Mets want to name a completely new management team, after years of undeperforming amidst a constant soap opera atmosphere.
