The Athletic: Mets meet with Kodai Senga, the Japanese star with a big fastball, 'nasty' splitter. "... it went well, industry sources said....Billy Eppler’s experience in scouting and choosing well when it comes to pitchers from Japan. Masahiro Tanaka and Shohei Ohtani are the two best examples" (Subscription required)
MLB Trade Rumors: Mets Meet With Kodai Senga. "Evaluators have raised some concerns about Senga’s command and breaking ball, but his combination of an upper-90s fastball and a split-finger offering have drawn plenty of praise."
Mike Vaccaro Talks about MLB's collusion investigation into the Mets and the Yankees stating: "It was better when New York teams hated one another."
Andy Martino SNY.TV: It’s a great time to be Brandon Nimmo (and his children, and their children, and their children, too). "The Mets remain in pursuit, but this one is going to cost them...The list of interested clubs reported in various markets includes the Mets, Yankees, Colorado Rockies and Toronto Blue Jays, and that is far from a complete accounting."

Mets Junkies
- Two Trades the Mets can pull off with the Blue Jays - Dom Smith for Lefty Tim Mayza seems like a possible fit but I strongly disagree Mets OF Prospect Alex Ramirez and RHP Calvin Ziegler for C Danny Jansen. Jansen hit 15 HRs in 215 At-Bats for the Jays but Ramirez and Ziegler are top Mets prospects that could likely make an impact in the Majors within the next three years if not sooner.
Mets.com:
- Alonso among 5 Mets to get NL MVP votes - "Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor, who finished eighth and ninth, respectively. Jeff McNeil, Edwin DÃaz and Starling Marte also received votes...The Mets had not had five players earn votes since 2008, when Carlos Beltrán, Carlos Delgado, José Reyes, Johan Santana and David Wright all made the list."
FanGraphs Baseball
- 40-Man Roster Deadline Analysis: NL East - they do their typical great job breaking down the roster moves the teams made earlier this week. Regarding the Mets they discuss the waiver claims of Stephen Ridings and Tayler Saucedo and note how they did not protect Jake Mangum saying that the 8 remaining roster spots were left open for Starting Pitching. (possibly some relief pitchers and an OF named Nimmo, IMO)

1966 | The Mets name Wes Westrum as the team's second manager in the franchise's brief history, replacing the legendary Casey Stengel who compiled a 175-404 (.302) record during his 3+ years with the expansion team. The new skipper had taken over the club's reins after the 'Old Perfessor' had fractured his hip in July. |

2014 | The Mets announce the team is moving in sections of the Citi Field outfield wall, adjusting the distances from home plate to center and right field from three to 11 feet. According to New York's General Manager Sandy Alderson, the modifications are a refinement of previous changes made at the ballpark and will continue to be fair to both pitchers and hitters. |
