As we had yesterday on Mets News and Links: The New York Mets today announced the club has re-signed RHP Adam Ottavino to a one-year contract, with a player option for the 2024 season. In addition, the Mets designated RHP William Woods for assignment. The Mets had claimed William Woods off waivers from the Braves on November 18th.

Joe DeMayo SNY.TV: What to expect from Mets prospect Kevin Parada in 2023. A year from now, Parada could be in the conversation to be the top catching prospect in baseball.
Mike Puma NY Post: Time for Mets, Carlos Correa to strike deal and put drama behind them. "Correa wants to get paid and win. He isn’t going to find a better opportunity than with the Mets, who are in the process of an overhaul under Cohen that has escalated the payroll beyond $350 million, more than doubling the amount the team was spending on salaries only three years ago under the Wilpon/Katz ownership."
NY Post: ‘Kind of felt numb’: The Carlos Correa warning sign no one realized. "On Sept. 20 against the Royals, Correa came up hobbling after a slide into second base...'He just hit my plate,' Correa said after the game, per The Athletic. 'I had surgery, and he hit it. Just kind of felt numb. Vibrating.'”
Deesha Thosar Fox Sports: Mets and Carlo Correa are still in limbo; What could come next? "...it remains in the best interests of both Correa and the Mets to get a deal done. Whether that will include a right-leg-injury safety net built into the contract or a shorter-term deal remains to be seen. But we should expect the two sides to settle on a decision before the calendar flips to 2023."
