NY Post:
- Steve Cohen bringing back fan favorites for Mets spring training Wright will be present March 1-2; Alfonzo and Strawberry from March 2-6; Wilson and Johnson from March 5-10; and Franco and Leiter from March 20-27.
- Mets’ Tylor Megill following Max Scherzer tip to stay healthy “'Just saving it for big spots and whatnot,' Megill said Wednesday after throwing 20 pitches in live batting practice at Clover Park. 'That was a big thing learning from Max last year, just how he works. If he needs it he will come out and show it, but for the most part he is sitting at a manageable percentage. It will let me save my arm.'”
- Buck Showalter doesn’t have any Edwin Diaz doubts
- Francisco Lindor wants to build all-time great Mets legacy ‘one brick at a time’ “'Yeah, if I stay healthy,' Lindor said. 'I’m a big believer that you do things little by little and eventually they stack up. You build a wall with one brick at a time and I go slow, slow...if I can have the [championship] trophy and that [great Met career], then I can say, ‘[Mets owners] Steve [Cohen], Alex [Cohen], [expletive], we did this.'”

Jason Bay, who mutually agreed to terminate his
contract with the Mets in November after three years of futility in New York,
clouts a two-run homer in his first at-bat of spring training in the
Mariners' 8-6 exhibition victory over the Padres. The likable, but
oft-injured outfielder signed with Seattle in the offseason for $1 million, a
far cry from the four-year, $66-million free-agent deal he inked when he left
Boston for the Big Apple in 2009. |

At
a news conference at Borough Hall in Queens, the Mets announce the team will
host an LGBT Pride Night on August 13 at Citi Field, featuring discounted
seating for the game against the Padres and a free postgame concert. A
portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold at Mets.com/pride for the
event, which is expected to attract more than 5,000 lesbian, gay, bisexual
and transgender fans, will benefit the LGBT Network, a non-profit
organization, and its Safe Schools Initiative working to stop bullying in
Long Island and Queens. |
