Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (23-30) battle the Greenville Drive (30-24) — the High-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox — in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island. 

RHP Jeffrey Colón (1-2, 6.37)­ is scheduled to take the hill for Brooklyn against the Reds Sox’ No. 12 prospect per Baseball America, Greenville’s RHP Wikelman González (2-2, 6.32) in Game 1. 

RHP Tyler Stuart (1-0, 1.43) — the South Atlantic League leader in ERA — is projected to get the ball for the Cyclones in Game 2 against the Drive’s RHP Jordan DiValerio (3-2, 2.88)

DOUBLE TROUBLE: After Thursday’s postponement due to poor air quality, the Cyclones will battle Greenville in a doubleheader on Saturday...Brooklyn was swept in last Saturday’s twinbill at Jersey Shore, dropping to 1-7 in doubleheader games in 2023...All 4 doubleheaders Brooklyn has played have been in visiting ballparks...This year, the ‘Clones are 22-23 in regularly scheduled 9-inning games. 

 

GREAT SCOTT!: RHP Christian Scott punched out a career-high 9 batters in a no-decision vs. Greenville on Friday night...This came after the 23-year-old whiffed a then-career-best 8 in his first home start of 2023 vs. Winston-Salem on May 27...Over his last 4 starts dating back to Game 2 of May 21’s doubleheader at Hudson Valley, Scott has permitted just 1 run on 6 hits over his last 18.0 innings...The former Florida Gator has walked 3 and punched out 22 (11.0 K/9 & 34.9 K%).
