The Brooklyn Cyclones (25-34) attempt to even their series against the Aberdeen IronBirds (30-29) — the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles — on Friday evening at 7:05 p.m. from Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium.
RHP Tyler Stuart (1-0, 1.47) — the Mets’ No. 18 prospect per Baseball America — is scheduled to take the hill for Brooklyn against Aberdeen’s RHP Ryan Long (3-3, 2.38).

OH YEAH, OMAR: OF Omar De Los Santos has picked up steam at the plate in June...The 23-year-old tallied a season-high-tying 3 hits in Wednesday’s win over the IronBirds and added 2 more knocks on Thursday...Omar is 6-for-12 (.500) in the series with 2 extra-base hits and 2 RBI...Since the beginning of the month, De Los Santos is batting .321 (17-53) with 7 runs scored, 2 doubles, 2 home runs, 8 RBI, and 6 stolen bases...The right-handed swinger is tied for 3rd in the SAL in hits (17) and stolen bases (6), 8th in batting average (.321), and tied for 8th in total bases (25) during June...Additionally, De Los Santos has added 24 stolen bases in 2022 and remains among the best base stealers in Minor League Baseball since the beginning of 2022...The Dominican native has accumulated 94 stolen bases in that span, which is 5th most in MiLB...Only Aberdeen OF Luis Valdez (103), Marlins farmhand INF Nasim Núñez (98), Red Sox prospect INF David Hamilton (96), and Mariners prospect OF Jonatan Clasé (96) have swiped more...De Los Santos has also snagged 54 more bases than any other Mets prospect in that time...Fellow Cyclone IF/OF Jaylen Palmer is 2nd with 40...Omar is already 8 swipes shy of matching INF Walter Rasquin’s franchise record for single-season stolen bases (32) which was set back in 2017.
TY-NAMIC: At 6-foot-9, RHP Tyler Stuart struck out 9 in Game 2 on Saturday and has been as consistent and imposing as any starting pitcher in the South Atlantic League in 2023...The 23-year-old permitted just 2 earned runs over 25.1 frames (0.71 ERA) in 5 starts during May...Stuart leads all qualifiers in the SAL, High-A, and all of Minor League Baseball in ERA (1.47)...The Kankakee, Ill. native leads the league in LOB% (86.8%) and FIP (2.65), 2nd in xFIP (3.27), 5th in strikeout rate (30.5%), 6th in strikeouts per 9 innings (11.20), and 9th in batting average against (.227).
D’ANDRE DELIVERS: 2B D’Andre Smith set a career-high with 4 hits in Brooklyn’s victory over Aberdeen on Wednesday...The 22-year-old also added 2 RBI and 2 stolen bases in the victory...Since being reinstated from the injured list before last week’s series vs. Greenville, Smith is 9-for-21 (.429) at the plate in 6 games...The former USC Trojan has added 3 RBI, a walk, and 3 stolen bases...Smith has also registered at least 1 hit in 5-of-his-6 games played.
CANARSIE’S CROWN PRINCE: IF/OF Jaylen Palmer has scattered himself across the Cyclones’ all-time leaderboards...Entering Friday, the 22-year-old is Brooklyn’s franchise record holder in games played (193), at-bats (635), plate appearances (760), runs scored (98), walks (105), and stolen bases (47)...Palmer passed INF Ronny Mauricio ‘21 (63) for 2nd place in Cyclones history in RBI (67) on May 23 and is 2 behind INF José Peroza (69) for the all-time mark...The Canarsie, Brooklyn native is 2nd all-time in total bases (197), 4th in home runs (16), and tied for 4th in hits (116).
