The Brooklyn Cyclones (22-11, 50-48) go for a third-straight victory against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws (16-17, 51-47) — the High-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies — on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. from ShoreTown Ballpark in Lakewood, N.J. 

RHP Joander Suárez (3-8, 5.53 ERA) is scheduled to take the hill for Brooklyn against Jersey Shore’s LHP Matt Osterberg (7-5, 3.53 ERA).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn earned its 2nd-straight win over Jersey Shore with a 6-3 triumph on Thursday night...The first 3 batters of the game reached and scored for the Cyclones...SS Jett Williams walked, stole second, and scored on a LF Alex Ramírez double...1B Ryan Clifford followed with a 2-run home run in his first at-bat with the club...RF Stanley Consuegra added a 2-run home run in the 3rd...Clifford reached base 4 times, also accruing a single and 2 walks...Williams reached base 3 times with 2 walks and a single, while CF Rhylan Thomas went 2-for-4...RHP Jawilme Ramírez worked into the 9th inning, posting a career-high 8.0 innings to earn the win in his Cyclones debut...DH Gabriel Rincones Jr. and C Andrick Nava each composed 2 hits and an RBI for Jersey Shore...Rincones clubbed a solo home run in the 9th. 

CLIFFORD THE CYCLONE: OF Ryan Clifford was added to Brooklyn's roster on Thursday...The 20-year-old was acquired by the New York Mets with OF Drew Gilbert from the Houston Astros in exchange for RHP Justin Verlander on Tuesday...Clifford smashed a 2-run home run to right in his first at-bat and closed out his organizational debut with a 2-for-3 day, adding 2 walks and 2 runs scored...Clifford was ranked as Houston's No. 3 prospect at midseason by Baseball America and is deemed the Mets' No. 6 farmhand by MLB Pipeline...The 2022 11th-round pick enters Friday leading the South Atlantic League in slugging percentage (.562)...He is also 2nd in OPS (.927) trailing only former Aberdeen SS Jackson Holliday (.940) and tied for 4th in the South Atlantic League in home runs (17)...Among players with at least 250 plate appearances, Clifford is 1st in isolated power (.286), 3rd in OPS (.927), wOBA (.395), and wRC+ (145). 

JAWILME'S BIG BITE: RHP Jawilme Ramírez was outstanding in his High-A and Cyclones debut on Thursday night...The 21-year-old became the first Brooklyn pitcher in 2023 to work into the 9th inning, ultimately tossing a career-high 8.0 innings of 3-run ball...Ramírez allowed 6 hits, did not walk a batter, and struck out 4...The Dominican native was the first Brooklyn pitcher to complete 8-full innings and work into the 9th since RHP Conner Grey carried a no-hit bid into the 9th inning vs. Jersey Shore on July 16, 2021...Grey ultimately tossed 8.1 innings that day...No Cyclone pitcher has tossed a 9-inning complete game since RHP John Gant posted a 1-hit shutout on August 28, 2013, at Maimonides Park vs. Tri-City.
