The 2023 Syracuse Mets finished with a 61-85 record.  Despite that, Syracuse provided fans with lots of excitement scoring 798 runs - an average of over 5 runs per game.

Brett Baty played just 26 game for Syracuse but hit 10 HRs with 31 RBIs, .298/.388/.625 - 1.013 OPS;

Mark Vientos had the teams highest batting average for players with over 200 at-bats. In 61 games, 232 at-bats, Mark hit .306/.387/.612 - .999 OPS, 16 HRs, 50 RBIs;

Ronny Mauricio played 116 games and led the team with 23 HRs, 71 RBIs, 24 Stolen bases, 532 at-bats while slashing .292/.346/.506 - .852 OPS;

Luke Ritter led all Mets Minor league players with 27 HRS (14 for Binghamton and 13 for Syracuse.  In 64 Syracuse games Luke drove in 35 RBIs and slashed .247/.360/.448 - .808 OPS.

Lorenzo Cedrola signed as a minor league free agent before the 2023 season.  Though missing time with an injury, he played 59 games mostly in Center Field but also in RF, LF and DH.

Rafael Ortega was picked up by the Mets on waivers and finished 2023 with the big club but not before he played 30 games for Syracuse with 4 HRs, 15 RBIs - .230/.379/.398 - .777 OPS.

Carlos Cortes spent the entire year with Syracuse appearing in 118 games, 15 HRs, 54 RBIs, .241/.355/.428 - .783 OPS

Nick Meyer Syracuse Mets, Photo by Herm Card

Nick Meyer, one of the best defensive catchers in the Mets System the last few years, also saw time in 2023 at 1B, 2B, 3B, LF and RF.  In 71 games, Nick hit 6 HRs, 26 RBIs, .217/.309/.309 - .618 OPS

Tomas Nido was sent to Syracuse after clearing waivers.  The Mets veteran catcher had 4 HRs, 12 RBIs, .282/.336/.393 - .728 OPS.

Veteran MLB catcher Michael Perez played in 70 games for Syracuse in between brief callups to Flushing.  He hit 9 HRs, 27 RBIs, .204/.309/.352 - .661 OPS.

Danny Mendick played all 4 infield positions and all 3 outfield positions for Syracuse and even pitched twice for the New York Mets.  The Rochester, NY native played 91 games for Syracuse with 11 HRs, 57 RBIs, 14 stolen bases - .282/.369/.424 - .793 OPS.

Brandon McIlwain was summoned from Binghamton in the middle of the year and played 43 games with 5 HRs, 23 RBIs, .219/.382/.391 - .773 OPS.  He tied with Ronny Mauricio to lead all minor league Mets with 30 doubles (11 with Syracuse and 19 with Binghamton).

Wyatt Young also came up from Binghamton and slashed .240/.302/.339 in 42 games with 3 HRs, and 26 RBIs; 


Joe Suozzi was promoted from Brooklyn to Binghamton and eventually to Syracuse where he played 38 games with 4 HRs and 16 RBIs - .270/.370/.397 - .767 OPS.

Jaylen Palmer, another player who went from Brooklyn to Binghamton and eventually to Syracuse.  He had one stretch for Syracuse where he hit HRs in 3 straight games - 4 in a 5 game stretch.  His overall Syracuse numbers - 6 HRs, 17 RBIs, .250/.380/.594 - .974 OPS.

Jose Peroza, named by Baseball America as the Best Infield Defensive Prospect, was still another late callup from Binghamton, 2 HRs, 9 RBIs - .333/.474/.633 - 1.107 OPS in 9 games.

Jaylin Davis was one of the veterans that saw time in Syracuse.  Jaylin had 13 HRs, 47 RBIs while slashing .220/.340/.436 - .776 OPS for Syracuse.

DJ Stewart excelled in Syracuse and later excelled in Flushing - 51 games, 16 HRs, 41 RBIs, .229/.362/.516 - .878 OPS

Tim Locastro played 14 games for Syracuse, 2 HRs, 10 RBIs, .200/.313/.346

Jonathan Arauz played 100 games for the S-Mets seeing time at 2B, SS, and 3B.  He hit 14 HRs, 53 RBIs, .239/.340/.415 and earned a place on the Mets 40 Man roster seeing action in 27 MLB Games.

Tyler White was a free agent signee during the year.  He saw action in 12 games before getting injured - ..265/.360/.279 in 50 at-bats.

Luke Voit may have only played 37 games for Syracuse but he made an impact - 14 HRs, 35 RBIs, .264/.415/.643 - 1.058 OPS.

MLB Veteran Abraham Almonte hit 11 HRs for Syracuse in just 36 games, with 30 RBIs, .202/.321/.455 - .776 OPS.
