The New York Mets have released their 2023 Year In Review Game Notes.
Here are some of the highlights:
Pete Alonso climbed to 4th all time in career Mets Home Runs (tied with Howard Johnson). His 46 HRs is the 2nd most ever in a season for a Met.
NL ROOKIE OF THE MONTH: Francisco Alvarez was named NL Rookie of the Month for July...The 21-year-old hit .275 with eight home runs, 16 RBI, six walks, 14 runs, a .623 SLG and a .974 OPSBEAUTIFUL GHOSTS: Kodai Senga was added to the National League All-Star team this season...He became the fifth Mets rookie All-Star, joining Tom Seaver (1967), Jerry Koosman (1968), Dwight Gooden (1984) and Pete Alonso (2019)...Additionally, Senga became the eighth Japanese-born rookie selected to an All-Star team, joining Hideo Nomo (1995), Ichiro Suzuki (2001), Hideki Matsui (2003), Hideki Okajima (2007), Kosuke Fukudome (2008), Yu Darvish (2012) and Masahiro Tanaka (2014).
