Brian Joura Mets360: "A few days ago, the GR for the game against the Phillies called it the most disappointing loss of the season. In this game, Carlos Mendoza and Edwin Diaz said, “hold my beer,” and proceeded to deliver an excruciating loss, as the Mets allowed four runs in the bottom of the ninth and lost in extra innings, 10-9, in Miami Saturday afternoon."

Kiner's Korner: "Josh Bell crushed a three-run homer to center field, tying the game at 9-9 and stunning the Mets and their fans alike."

NY Post"On a day Lindor and Brandon Nimmo flip-flopped in the batting order, maybe the most notable performance came from Jeff McNeil, who delivered a rare multiple-hit game and even stole a base for the Mets. McNeil, stuck in a slump that had pushed his OPS to .614, reached base three times and went 2-for-4 with two RBIs as part of the team’s 15-hit attack. Every Mets starter had at least one hit except Lindor (0-for-5), who moved to the leadoff spot with Nimmo shifted to third."

Tim Healey Newsday: "As Edwin Diaz sat at his locker, head in hands and tears falling, Francisco Lindor walked over and rubbed his back...Fellow reliever Sean Reid-Foley, one of only two other players in a nearly empty Mets clubhouse, came from across the room to join them. He crouched down and got in real close...It was hard to know what to say or how to help, so they did what they could, letting their teammate and friend and beleaguered, emotional closer know that they had his back — figuratively and literally."
