Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (27-24) and Major League rehabber C Francisco Alvarez return home to open a six-game series against the Aberdeen IronBirds (26-25) — the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles — on Tuesday at 6 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y.

RHP Dakota Hawkins (1-1, 4.08) is expected to take the hill for the Cyclones in his second professional start. The IronBirds are projected to counter with RHP Levi Wells (0-3, 7.42).

LAST TIME OUT: The Cyclones earned a series split with a 7-0 victory at Jersey Shore on Sunday afternoon...RHPs Kade Morris (4.1 IP), Jake Stevenson (1.2), Jimmy Loper (2.0), and Brett Banks (1.0) combined on a two-hit shutout...The Cyclones did not allow a hit from two out in the fourth inning on...Brooklyn blasted a trio of solo home runs...DH Wilfredo Lara, CF Stanley Consuegra, and 2B Mateo Gil powered round-trippers in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings, respectively...Consuegra, Lara, C Christian Pregent, and RF Karell Paz all tallied multi-hit games...Consuegra and SS William Lugo provided multi-RBI efforts...All nine in Brooklyn's starting lineup reached base at least once with eight of the nine collecting at least one hit.

NECK AND NECK DOWN THE STRETCH: Including Tuesday, 15 games remain in the First Half of the South Atlantic League season...The Cyclones are currently in sole possession of third in the North Division...Brooklyn is 2.5 games back of first-place Greensboro...The Grasshoppers hold the lead in the division even though they will not play an in-division opponent until this week when the Jersey Shore BlueClaws travel to North Carolina...So far, Greensboro has played just six games against teams with a record of .500 or better, holding a 2-4 mark.

EL TROLL RETURNS: C Francisco Alvarez joins Brooklyn on Tuesday to continue his Major League rehab assignment...The 22-year-old joined Double-A Binghamton last week and appeared in three contests for the Rumble Ponies, going 2-for-8 at the plate with two runs scored, a home run, and three RBI...Alvarez has been on the New York Mets' 10-day injured list since April 20 with a left thumb sprain...As a member of the Cyclones in 2021, he set a then-franchise record with 22 home runs in 84 games...That mark is second-most in a single season in Brooklyn franchise history behind OF Stanley Consuegra's 23 in 2023...His 58 RBI in 2021 is the third-most in a single season behind Consuegra (63) in 2023 and INF Ronny Mauricio in 2021...Alvarez's .538 slugging percentage and .889 OPS rank fourth and sixth in Cyclones' single-season history...With the Mets in 2023, Alvarez (25) joined former Brooklyn 1B Pete Alonso (53, 2019) and OF Darryl Strawberry (26, 1983) as the only rookies in franchise history to hit 20+ home runs in a season...C Austin Allen has also joined Brooklyn from the Florida Complex League on a minor league rehab assignment...The 30-year-old signed with New York as a minor league free agent on January 16 and has appeared in 57 Major League games between the San Diego Padres and Oakland Athletics, hitting .195 (23-118) with two home runs.
