The Brooklyn Cyclones (11-17, 44-50) square off against the Rome Emperors (9-19, 45-47) — the High-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves — at 6 p.m. on Saturday from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y.
LHP Felipe De La Cruz (3-6, 4.63) is scheduled to take the hill for the Cyclones. The Emperors are projected to counter with RHP Blake Burkhalter (0-2, 3.10), the Braves’ No. 26 prospect per MLB Pipeline.

BYE BYE RHY: OF Rhylan Thomas — who spent part of the 2023 season with the Cyclones — was traded by the New York Mets on Friday night to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for RHP Ryne Stanek...Thomas appeared in 39 games for Brooklyn last year, hitting .341/.432/.429 with a .861 OPS, adding 19 runs scored, five doubles, two home runs, 16 RBI, and more walks (19) than strikeouts (10)...The 2022 11th-round pick spent the 2024 campaign at Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Syracuse before the deal.
'TALK 2 'EM: RHP Kade Morris has found his stride at the High-A level...The 22-year-old took a perfect game into the seventh on Friday against Rome and holds a minuscule 2.12 ERA over his last six appearances (five starts) dating back to June 21 vs. Jersey Shore...Morris' record during that span sits at 3-2...He has yielded just 24 hits and 10 walks while striking out 35...Since June 21, Morris has been one of the best arms in the South Atlantic League and is tied with Bowling Green RHP Yoniel Curet for the league lead in strikeouts (35)...He is also tied for the SAL lead in wins (3) and is second in innings pitched (34.0), sixth in WHIP (1.00), seventh in ERA (2.12), and tied for eighth in batting average against (.192)...Since making his SAL debut on May 22, Morris is second in the league in innings pitched (57.2), fifth in batting average against (.221), sixth in strikeouts (57), eighth in WHIP (1.16) and 10th in ERA (3.43).
