Biggest buzz heard today at Mets minor league camp is about (God I hope right first name/guy) 21 year old RHP Franklin Sanchez. 6 foot 6 and THIN. Throwing fire possibly a 99 MPH arm with a filthy slider.

2022: $220 million
2023: $220 million
2024: $220 million
2025: $224 million
2026: $230 million.
The tax rates will remain the same as the last CBA: 20%, 32%, 62.5%
The union has also dropped the proposal for increasing the Super2 class

Owners' willingness to get to a timely deal, which had been in question for many, is now pretty clear to all. Big change.

Players union will be busy polling its constituency and is expected to get back to MLB tomorrow morning regarding its most recent offers.
— Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) March 1, 2022
Not for nuthin but if you expand playoffs to as many as 14 teams then what's the incentive for teams to raise payroll? Worried about luxury tax but Steve and like 4 other owners will go over. Rest will chill at the bottom and get in anyway. Even win at times with a couple arms.

David Lennon Newsday: Rob Manfred's deadline for lockout talks was just more bullying of players. "Great. After all the wasted time, and with baseball shut down for nearly three months because of Manfred’s lockout, only now — on Feb. 28, hours away from torching games and players’ salaries — did the owners’ side finally give the impression of hustling for a new collective bargaining agreement."
