Press Release: De Los Santos Named FSL Player of the Week


Mets OF stole 7 bases, batted .450 last week at Palm Beach 

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (June 27, 2022) – St. Lucie Mets outfielder Omar De Los Santos has been named the Florida State League Player of the Week for the time period of June 21-26. 

De Los Santos played in five of the six games for the Mets last week at Palm Beach and went 9 for 20 with a home run, triple, double, five RBI and six runs scored. He stole seven bases. On Friday he went 3 for 4 and fell a double shy of the cycle. 

De Los Santos' slash line for the week was .450/.500/.750 and he had a 1.250 OPS. 

De Los Santos leads the FSL and is third in all the minors with 43 stolen bases. He has only been caught stealing five times. 

De Los Santos, 22, was signed by the Mets as an international free agent out of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic in 2019. 

De Los Santos is the second St. Lucie player to earn a FSL Player or Pitcher of the Week award this season. Outfielder Alex Ramirez won the honor for his performance at Palm Beach from May 3-8
