Mets utility player hit .402 in June and led the league with a 1.160 on-base plus slugging percentage
SYRACUSE, NY – Syracuse Mets infielder/outfielder Travis Blankenhorn has been named the International League Player of the Month for June. In June, Blankenhorn hit .402 with 24 RBIs, five home runs, ten doubles, and a .486 on-base percentage in 25 games, ranking second in the league in batting average, on-base percentage, and RBIs in June while leading the league with a 1.160 on-base plus slugging percentage and 62 total bases.
Blankenhorn has reached base in 37 of his last 41 games, including hits in 33 of 42. During his last 42 games since May 12th, Blankenhorn is hitting .342 with 28 RBIs, seven home runs, 13 doubles, 15 walks and a .415 on-base percentage.
During June, Blankenhorn was named the International League Player of the Week for the week of June 20-June 26 when he hit .600 (12-for-20) with six RBIs, two home runs, three doubles, five walks, and six runs scored in six games against Rochester.
This is the first time that Blankenhorn has won a league's Player of the Month award in his career.
