Brandon Nimmo, Francisco Alvarez, Mark Vientos, Brett Baty, Eduardo Escobar, and others were at Mets Spring Training yesterday.

Steve Cohen talked to ESPN on their subsciption based ESPN+ site.

The NY Post reported some of the biggest quote from the article“'I still had made a commitment to the fans, and to baseball, that I was going to come in and turn this thing around. I came in saying I’m all-in. And I keep my word.'...[regarding other Baseball Owners] 'I’ve heard what everyone else has heard: that they’re not happy with me...that they’re taking a lot of heat from their fans. I kind of look at that like, you’re looking at the wrong person. They’re putting it on me. Maybe they need to look more at themselves.'

SNY.TV: Steve Cohen not worried about what other teams think of Mets' spending: 'I'm following the rules'.

SNY.TV: Brandon Nimmo ready to take on 'role of a mentor' to help Mets' prospects during spring training

SNY.TV: 'Push it:' Francisco Lindor, Steve and Alex Cohen, the Yankees, and Carlos Beltran’s return to the Mets. Lindor and Edwin Diaz both pushed for Beltran to return to the team he was once supposed to manage.

Yesterday the Mets announced that they claimed RHP Sam Coonrod off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies and designated outfielder Khalil Lee for assignment. "Coonrod, 30, is 7-5 with five saves, a 5.27 ERA (57 earned runs/97.1 innings) and 95 strikeouts in 105 combined major league games between the San Francisco Giants (2019-2020) and Phillies (2021-2022)." Lee spent most of the last two years in Syracuse with two brief appearances on the Mets in 2021 and 2022.  In 20 Mets At-Bats Khalil slashed .100/.100/.300 - with 2 hits and 13 Ks. Earlier this month the NY Post reported that Mets’ Khalil Lee was accused of assaulting, choking ex-girlfriend.

Mets also announced on the Transaction Tab of their Roster Page that have signed RHP Lucas Gordillo, 20 years old, and have assigned him to the DSL 1 roster.
