According to Joel Sherman of the NY Post, the Mets have designated Darin Ruf for assignment. Tim Locastro has made the team.

Tim Locastro has shown speed and the ability to play the outfield this Spring while slashing .289/.396/.511 with 1 HR and 8 RBIs in 23 games. Darin Ruf was slowed by a wrist injury in the early part of Spring. In 11 games, Darin slashed .165/.267/.233 with no homers and 1 RBI.
The move rewards a player who earned a spot this Spring while giving the roster more flexibility. Last year the Mets were hampered by two players who could only DH in Ruf and Vogelbach.
