Up 3-1 in the third, Joe Suozzi hit an RBI single to make it 4-1 Binghamton. With the Ponies leading 4-2 in the fifth, Suozzi crushed the first home run of his Double-A career to extend the lead to 5-2.

The Ponies added two more runs in the sixth on Brandon McIlwain’s two-run shot off the batter’s eye in center. McIlwain’s homer made Binghamton’s lead 7-2. Trey McLoughlin allowed one run in the seventh but finished the game, as the Ponies won 7-3.

Scott retired 14 of the final 15 batters that he faced after allowing a solo homer to Niko Kavadas in the second inning. Matt Minnick made his Binghamton debut on the mound in the seventh and worked around a solo homer from Marcelo Mayer by recording two strikeouts.
