The Brooklyn Cyclones (19-8, 47-45) battle the Wilmington Blue Rocks (9-18, 38-53) — the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals — on Friday evening at 7 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, N.Y. 

RHP Joander Suárez (3-7, 6.02 ERA) is scheduled to toe the slab for Brooklyn against Wilmington’s LHP Dannel Díaz (0-4, 6.05 ERA).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn used a 9-run 2nd inning to help topple Wilmington, 11-7, on Thursday night...Cyclones scored 9 runs on 6 hits and sent 12 batters to the plate in the home 2nd...Trailing 1-0, Brooklyn tied it on a CF Rhylan Thomas single and took the lead on a bases-clearing, 3-run double from C Drake Osborn...DH Stanley Consuegra and 3B Mateo Gil capped the frame with a 2-run and 3-run home run, respectively...Cyclones added 2 more in the 3rd on a 2-RBI blast from SS William Lugo...Wilmington tallied 4 runs in the 9th to pull within 4...Consuegra and Gil registered multi-hit nights, while both, as well as Lugo and Osborn posted multi-RBI games...LF Jared McKenzie, 3B Murphy Stehly, and 1B Branden Boissiere composed multi-hit nights for Wilmington...RHP Jordany Ventura allowed 2 runs on 3 hits over 5.0 innings for his first Cyclones victory. 


NINE TIMES!: Brooklyn posted their best offensive inning of the season in the bottom of the 2nd on Thursday night vs. Wilmington...The Cyclones scored 9 runs on 6 hits and sent 12 batters to the plate...8 of the 9 hitters in Brooklyn’s lineup reached base safely in the 2nd inning...Brooklyn’s previous season high came when they scored 6 times in the top of the 2nd on June 4 at Jersey Shore...The 9-run frame was the most by the Cyclones in a single frame since they scratched across 10 tallies in the top of the 6th on May 27, 2022, at Bowling Green...Brooklyn went on to win that contest, 20-6...The 9-run inning was the largest for the Cyclones at home since an 8-tally bottom of the 7th on August 12, 2016, vs. West Virginia...Brooklyn won that affair, 14-7. 


TURN IT UP TO ELEVEN: The Cyclones scored a season-high 11 runs in Thursday evening’s rout of Wilmington...It marked the second time this season Brooklyn had registered double digits in runs scored with the previous high watermark coming in a 10-6 win at Jersey Shore on June 4...The 11-run outburst was the most for the ‘Clones since they accrued 18 runs in an 18-1 thrashing at Jersey Shore on August 28, 2022...Additionally, it was the most Brooklyn had scored at Maimonides Park since a 14-0 beatdown of Hudson Valley on May 19, 2021.
