The Brooklyn Cyclones (28-20, 56-57) open up a two-week road trip starting with six games against the Asheville Tourists (19-29, 45-64) — the High-A affiliate of the Houston Astros — on Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. from McCormick Field in Asheville, N.C. 

RHP Jordany Ventura (3-1, 3.56 ERA) — the Mets’ No. 29 prospect per Baseball America — is scheduled to make the start for Brooklyn against Asheville’s RHP Alex Santos II (3-6, 6.81 ERA).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn dropped Sunday afternoon's series finale to Hudson Valley, 7-1...SS Jett Williams led off the game with a solo home run to left...The 19-year-old went 2-for-3 with a walk...Cyclones were limited to just 4 hits...CF Spencer Jones tied the game for the Renegades with a solo home run in the 3rd...He was 3-for-4 with a walk and 2 runs scored...DH Christopher Familia provided a go-ahead 2-run single later in the frame...LF Jared Wegner added a solo home run in the 4th...1B Jesús Rodríguez tallied a pair of knocks — including a double — and an RBI...RHP Brendan Beck (4.2 IP), LHP Clay Aguilar (1.0), RHP Luis Velasquez (2.1), and RHP Cole Ayers (1.0) united on the 4-hitter...Renegades also stole 6 bases, including 3 from 3B Ben Cowles. 

 

THE JETT AND JACOB SHOW: INFs Jett Williams and Jacob Reimer made their Cyclones debuts on August  1 and have been stellar all summer long…Since returning from the All-Star break on July 14, the 19-year-old is slashing .327/.485/.615 with a 1.100 OPS, 20 runs scored, 11 doubles, 2 triples, 5 home runs, 10 RBI, 31 walks, and 13 stolen bases in 31 games between Brooklyn and Single-A St. Lucie…On the season, Williams is 8th in Minor League Baseball in walks (85)…Among teenagers, Williams ranks 2nd in MiLB...Since making his SAL debut, the Rockwall, Texas, native leads the circuit (min. 75 PA) in batting average (.311), on-base percentage (.462), and OPS (1.036)...He is also 1st in doubles (7), tied for 2nd in stolen bases (7), 3rd in walks (16), 5th in total bases (35), and tied for 5th in hits (19)...Since June 1, Reimer has recorded a .287/.427/.433 slash line with a .860 OPS, 38 runs scored, 8 doubles, 6 home runs, 33 RBI, 36 walks, and 9 hit-by-pitches in 54 games between 3 levels in the Mets’ system. 

 

WELCOME BACK: C Kevin Parada and INF Chase Estep were reinstated from the Cyclones' 7-day injured list before Tuesday's series opener...Parada landed on the injured list on July 28, while Estep was placed there on August 3...Parada started a rehab assignment with Single-A St. Lucie on August 16...The 22-year-old went 1-for-13 with an RBI and 2 walks in 4 games...Prior to landing on the injured list, Parada was slashing .301/.361/.525 with a .885 OPS, 7 home runs, and 22 RBI in his last 37 games with the club...Estep was equally hot, posting a .296/.377/.341 slash line with a .718 OPS, 2 doubles, and 7 RBI in his previous 14 games before landing on the IL. 

 

DOWN THE STRETCH THEY COME: Brooklyn's looking to manufacture a second-straight playoff appearance and has dropped just 2 of their last 9 series since Greenville won 4-of-6 on Coney Island from June 6-11...The Cyclones are 6-2-2 in their last 10 sets...The Cyclones are 28-20 in the second half and are tied for the lead in the North Division of the SAL with Jersey Shore (28-20) with 18 games left to play...The BlueClaws hold the tiebreaker over Brooklyn as a result of winning the season series (15-11).
