The Brooklyn Cyclones (22-19) look to extend their season-high-tying four-game win streak against Major League rehabber DJ LeMahieu and the Hudson Valley Renegades (19-19) — the High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees — on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. from Maimonides Park in Brooklyn.
RHP Jordany Ventura (2-0, 2.42) is expected to take the hill in his second start of the year for the Cyclones. The Renegades are projected to counter with RHP Sebastian Keane (2-3, 5.06)

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn took down Hudson Valley in a Wednesday matinee, 3-1...The victory marked the Cyclones' fourth straight win - good for their third four-game winning streak of the season...RHP Kade Morris dazzled in his High-A debut, tossing six innings while surrendering only one run and one walk; Morris also picked up seven strikeouts...Offensively, Brooklyn did most of its damage in the home third, when CF Nick Morabito singled home a run, and 3B William Lugo drew a bases-loaded walk, giving Gilbert Gomez's squad a 2-1 lead that it would never surrender...RHPs Brett Banks and Jimmy Loper each picked up hitless holds, while RHP Josh Hejka notched a five-out save.

KADE YOU DIG IT: RHP Kade Morris put on a show in his High-A debut on Wednesday afternoon against Hudson Valley...The 2023 third-round selection by the Mets tossed 6.0 innings, giving up only one run on four hits, while striking out seven and walking only one batter, all en route to earning his first career win...RHP Jonah Tong tossed 6.2 innings in a win vs. Hudson Valley on Tuesday, marking the first time Brooklyn has received quality starts in consecutive days since RHP Tyler Stuart (6.0 IP) and RHP Blade Tidwell (6.0) accomplished the feat on July 5 and 6, 2023, at Wilmington...Among Mets' farmhands with 30.0+ innings pitched, Morris is second in innings pitched (40.2), fourth in strikeouts (45), and seventh in ERA (3.32).
MORABITO FUEL: OF Nick Morabito had his 10-game South Atlantic League and 21-game overall on-base streak snapped on Tuesday...From April 20 to May 18, the third-year pro hit .437/.545/.493/1.038 with 16 runs scored, four doubles, four RBI, and 19 stolen bases...The 21-year-old is fourth in Minor League Baseball in on-base percentage (.487), sixth in stolen bases (23), ninth in batting average (.363), 13th in wRC+ (179), and 17th in wOBA (.458)...Morabito stole three bases last Wednesday and did it again last Saturday...That mark is tied for the most by a Cyclone in the previous 23 years...The McLean, Va. native enters the day tied for ninth in the South Atlantic League in stolen bases (12) despite playing just 12 games.
JONAH'S WHALE OF A START: RHP Jonah Tong earned his first High-A and South Atlantic League victory on Tuesday, tossing a career-high 6.2 innings of one-run ball...The 6.2 innings of work was the longest by a Brooklyn starter this year...It was the longest start by a Cyclone since RHP Jordany Ventura tossed 6.2 innings of one-run, one-hit ball in a win vs. Aberdeen on August 9, 2023...The 20-year-old stretch of innings to start the year without allowing an earned run came to a close on May 8 at Rome at 26.0 frames...In nine appearances (even starts) between St. Lucie and Brooklyn, the 20-year-old is 2-0 with a 0.95 ERA (4 ER in 38.0 IP)...Tong is second among qualifiers in Minor League Baseball in ERA (0.95)...Only Arizona's LHP Spencer Giesting (0.66) at High-A Hillsboro has a lower mark...The Markham, Ont. native is also fifth among qualifiers in MiLB in strikeout rate (38.3%) and his strikeout-to-walk rate (28.6%) is eighth...Tong's 59 strikeouts are the ninth-most in the minors.
START ME UP: The Cyclones' starting rotation has been one of the best in Minor League Baseball in 2024...Brooklyn holds the best ERA for starting pitchers in the South Atlantic League at 2.64...The Cyclones have the only starting staff with a sub-3.00 ERA in the circuit and hold a mark 0.75 runs better than the next team (Aberdeen; 3.39)...That ERA is also third at the High-A level and fifth among full-season MiLB squads...Arizona's High-A Hillsboro holds the best mark in the minors and the level (2.25).
HOME COOKING: The Cyclones enter play on Thursday with a 14-6 record at Maimonides Park, but a 8-13 record in opposing ballparks...So far in 2024, Brooklyn holds the fifth-best home ERA (2.19) in Minor League Baseball...Chicago-AL's Double-A Birmingham (2.01) has the lowest mark in MiLB...Additionally, the Cyclones are fourth in opposing OPS (.560) and sixth in batting average against (.198) in home games...In visiting parks, the Cyclones' ERA is 4.70..They also maintain a .685 opposing OPS and a .245 batting average against on the road.
