Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (22-14, 50-51) return home to open up a 12-game homestand with six contests against the Aberdeen IronBirds (17-18, 49-50) — the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles — on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island. 

LHP Joey Lucchesi (NR) is scheduled to take the hill for Brooklyn in a rehab start against Aberdeen’s RHP Daniel Lloyd (4-4, 3.33 ERA).

LAST TIME OUT: Brooklyn was shut out for the 2nd-straight contest in a 6-0 loss at Jersey Shore on Sunday...The Cyclones have not scored since RF Stanley Consuegra's solo home run with 1 out in the top of the 6th inning on Friday night, a span of 21.2 innings...CF Jett Williams led the 'Clones offense with a pair of hits, a walk, a hit-by-pitch, and a stolen base...2B D'Andre Smith doubled for the only other Brooklyn knock...CF Jared Carr clubbed a 2-run home run for the BlueClaws in the 2nd and LF Gabriel Rincones Jr. added a solo home run in the 7th...Carr finished with 2 hits, adding a double and 3 RBI...3B Otto Kemp tallied a pair of hits, including a double and an RBI...RHP Carlos Betancourt (3.0 IP), RHP Jack Dallas (2.0), RHP Malik Binns (1.0), RHP Cam Wynne (2.0), and RHP Jason Ruffcorn (1.0) combined on the 3-hit shutout for Jersey Shore. 

 

CHURVEY ISLAND: LHP Joey Lucchesi is scheduled to make a rehab start for the Cyclones on Tuesday night...Throws a "churve" that he holds it deep in his palm like a classic circle changeup, but snaps the pitch off like a breaking ball...Per Statcast, his churve had an average 8.9-inch vertical drop in 2019, which was the most movement of any pitcher’s changeup by more than a full inch...Lucchesi was placed on Triple-A Syracuse's 7-day injured list on July 20 (retroactive 7/19)...In 12 starts (11 appearances) with Syracuse, the 30-year-old is 6-3 with a 3.99 ERA (30 ER in 67.2 IP) and 63 strikeouts...Lucchesi has also made 5 starts this season at the Major League level with the Mets...The southpaw composed a 1-0 record with a 4.43 ERA (11 ER in 22.1 IP) and 17 Ks. 

 

THE JETT AND JACOB SHOW: INFs Jett Williams and Jacob Reimer have made an impact since making their Cyclones debut last Tuesday…Williams has reached base safely in all 6 games played with the club and is 5-for-17 (.294) at the plate with 2 runs scored, a double, 2 RBI, 3 stolen bases, and 8 walks to 6 strikeouts…Since returning from the All-Star break on July 14, the 19-year-old is slashing .333/.524/.583 with a 1.107 OPS, 5 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 6 RBI, 23 walks, and 9 stolen bases in 19 games between Brooklyn and Single-A St. Lucie…On the season, Williams is tied for 5th in Minor League Baseball in walks (77)…Reimer picked up an RBI double and a 2-run home run in last Wednesday’s win at Jersey Shore…Since June 1, the 19-year-old has recorded a .303/.428/.483 slash line with a .911 OPS, 31 runs scored, 8 doubles, 6 home runs, 30 RBI, and 26 walks in 43 games between 3 levels in the Mets’ system.
