Andy Martino SNY.TV: The latest on Yankees and Mets bullpen targets, including Hector Neris and Aroldis Chapman. "Andy reported earlier in the day that the Mets were talking to Hecor Neris, Wandy Peralta and Aroldis Chapman. Chapman signed later in the day with the Pirates."
Danny Abriano SNY.TV: Mets should really sign a DH, and here are the four to target -- ranked. Jorge Soler is Danny's 1st pick followed by J.D. Martinez #2, Rhys Hoskins #3 and Justin Turner #4.
NY Post: Billy Wagner isn’t getting Hall of Fame hopes up with fate hanging on narrow margin. "As of Monday afternoon Wagner was tracking at 78.4 percent, according to the known ballots tabulated by Ryan Thibodaux (@NotMrTibbs on X)...The threshold for induction into the Hall of Fame is 75 percent...historically candidates fall a few to several percentage points lower than what is tabulated by Thibodaux in the early results...Instead of waiting by the phone, Wagner said he will spend Tuesday afternoon and early evening conducting baseball practice at Miller School in Charlottesville, Va. The six-time former All-Star has spent the last 12 years as the school’s varsity baseball coach."
MLB.com:
- Here are the Top 10 2B prospects for 2024 - Ronny Mauricio comes in at #6 highlighting his Power and Arm. "Mauricio laced a 117.3 mph double in his first Major League at-bat -- the highest exit velocity of any Met in 2023 -- and strung together three straight 20-plus-homer seasons in the Minors, despite major chase issues. He should be a threat to reach 30 long balls in a season once he recovers from the torn ACL he suffered this winter...Mauricio has the arm strength to work on the left side of the infield -- and the Mets were considering him as part of their third-base competition before his torn ACL ruled him out for much, if not all, of the 2024 season. That said, 21 of his 26 starts in the bigs came at the keystone to see how he’d play as a potential double-play combo with Francisco Lindor."

The demise of Sports Illustrated makes me so sad. For a public relations person like myself, getting anything in the magazine was dream come true. https://t.co/cnLNqG8qKY
