Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (1-5) will play their first doubleheader of the 2024 season against the Asheville Tourists (4-2) — the High-A affiliate of the Houston Astros — on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. from Maimonides Park on Coney Island.



LHP Felipe De La Cruz (0-0, 0.00 ERA) is scheduled to take the hill for Brooklyn in the lid-lifter, while RHP Jordan Geber (0-0, 6.00 ERA) is projected to take the ball in the nightcap. Asheville is scheduled to counter with RHP Carlos Calderón (0-0, 6.00 ERA) in game one and LHP Trey Dombroski (0-1, 4.50 ERA) in game two.

LAST TIME OUT: The Cyclones dropped their second-straight game in a 7-1 loss to the Tourists...Asheville scored six runs in the top of the first on a grand slam from SS Ryan Johnson and a two-run double by 2B Jeron Williams...3B Austin Deming reached base four times on two singles and two walks...DH Nolan McLean provided Brooklyn's only run on a solo home run in the seventh...RF Ryan Clifford and 1B Nick Lorusso added doubles, while LF Omar De Los Santos stole a pair of bases...RHP Douglas Orellana tossed 4.0 innings of shutout relief, striking out six.



ROSTER MOVES: Brooklyn made a series of roster moves before Saturday's doubleheader...RHP Alan Perdomo was transferred from Single-A St. Lucie, while OF Joe Suozzi was reinstated from the Development List and transferred from Double-A Binghamton...In corresponding moves, OF Karell Paz and INF D'Andre Smith were placed on the 7-day injured list...Perdomo was selected by the New York Mets from the Colorado Rockies organization in the minor league phase of the 2023 Rule V Draft...Over two appearances in St. Lucie, the 22-year-old allowed just one run on four hits over 3.1 innings...Suozzi has not appeared in 2024 and split 2023 between Brooklyn, Binghamton, and Triple-A Syracuse...The 27-year-old has appeared in 127 games for the 'Clones since 2021 and holds a .230/.320/.372 mark with a .692 OPS, nine home runs, and 49 RBI.



DOUBLE DARE: Brooklyn will play its first doubleheader of the 2024 season on Saturday against Asheville...The Cyclones struggled mightily in twinbills during the 2023 season, posting an 0-4-2 mark with a total 2-10 record...Since moving to the full-season level in 2021, Brooklyn is 4-9-10 in doubleheaders and 18-28 overall (.391)...Saturday marks the 'Clones first double dip since last August 31's split at Greenville...LHP Felipe De La Cruz started game one of that contest, as well, tossing a complete game in Brooklyn's 1-0 defeat...The Cyclones captured the nightcap, 7-4...The doubleheader will be the Cyclones' first against the Tourists.
