Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (8-14, 40-47) look to clinch a series victory against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws (11-11, 49-39) — the High-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies — at 6 p.m. on Saturday from Maimonides Park in Brooklyn, N.Y.

RHP Kade Morris (3-2, 3.56) — the New York Mets’ No. 23 prospect per Baseball America — is scheduled to take the hill for the Cyclones. The BlueClaws are projected to counter with RHP Mitch Neunborn (1-2, 2.66).

LAST TIME OUT: The Cyclones completed their largest comeback of the year to date, with an improbable five-run, two-out rally in the ninth to tie the game, before eventually walking it off, 6-5, in the 10th...Brooklyn was down to its final strike not once, but twice...RF Omar De Los Santos' two-run home run pulled the 'Clones even...RHP Joshua Cornielly stranded the automatic runner at third in the top of the 10th...C Chris Suero provided the finishing touch - a walk-off RBI infield single in the home half...LHP Braeden Fausnaught silenced the Brooklyn bats for the majority, limiting Gilbert Gómez's squad to just three hits over 7.0 scoreless innings...RHP Jonah Tong started for Brooklyn, and tossed 3.2 frames, surrendering three runs - all earned - on six hits...The victory marked the first time this season that Brooklyn has emerged victorious when trailing after eight frames.

 

THIS DATE IN CYCLONES' HISTORY: On July 20, 2006, the Cyclones and the Oneonta Tigers played the longest game in New York-Penn League history...The 26-inning, six-hour, and 40-minute contest ends with Oneonta scoring five runs in the top of the 26th off of Brooklyn OF Mark Wright, who was called in to toss when the Cyclones ran out of pitchers in the 6-1 defeat...In 2014, RHP Corey Oswalt (7.0 IP) and RHP Scarlyn Reyes (2.0) combined on a two-hit shutout in a 6-0 win vs. Williamsport...In 2015, after C Brandon Brosher tied the game in the eighth with a three-run home run, DH Jeff Diehl provided the walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth in a 5-4 win vs. Vermont...In 2023, in a 4-3 win at Hudson Valley, RHP Blade Tidwell struck out four batters over 6.1 innings to break the Cyclones' single-season strikeout record with 107, surpassing RHP Junior Santos' previous mark of 105 from a year prior...Tidwell would finish with 112 K's before joining Double-A Binghamton on July 31.
