Fans Can Donate Non-Perishable Items Pregame on July 26 & 27
FLUSHING, N.Y., July 22, 2024 – The New York Mets will host their annual Summer Food Drive, presented by 1PointFive, a carbon capture, utilization and sequestration (CCUS) company, to benefit New York Common Pantry pregame during the Mets vs. Braves Series on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27 at Citi Field.
Two collection points will be set up on the first and third base sides of the Jackie Robinson Rotunda outside of the ballpark between 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, July 26 and between 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 27. Fans planning on attending games on July 26 and 27 must make their donation at the collection points outside of ballpark before entering the Jackie Robinson Rotunda. There will not be collection points inside of the ballpark.
Fans donating at least 10 non-perishable items will receive a voucher redeemable for two tickets to a select Mets regular season home game in 2024.
All types of canned and packaged goods are welcome, but no glass containers or perishable food. Please note that expired items will not be accepted. The most needed food items are milk (powdered, evaporated, boxed), pasta, rice, canned vegetables (low sodium), canned fruit (packed in its own juice), mac and cheese (packaged), oatmeal, hot and cold cereal (packaged, family-sized), boxed grits, canned tuna or chicken and canned soup.
New York Common Pantry works toward the reduction of hunger and food insecurity through an array of programs that function to establish long-term stability for those they serve. Their whole-person approach includes services such as fresh food pantry packages, hot meals, supplemental food for seniors, connection to public benefits resources and nutrition education programs.
