Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (14-20, 47-53) will take on the Aberdeen IronBirds (18-16, 52-48) — the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles — in a doubleheader starting at 12:35 p.m. on Sunday from Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, Md.

RHP Jawilme Ramírez (3-3, 3.95) is expected to make the start for the Cyclones in the lid-lifter. The IronBirds are projected to counter with Minor League rehabber RHP Nick Avila (0-0, 2.25)

Brooklyn has yet to announce a probable starter for the finale. Aberdeen schedules to hand the ball to RHP Edgar Portes (5-2, 3.24).

LAST TIME OUT: The IronBirds edged out the Cyclones in a rain-shortened, suspended contest from Friday night on Saturday...The game resumed in the bottom of the fourth inning with Aberdeen leading 1-0...IronBirds jumped out to a 3-0 advantage in the sixth thanks to a two-run LF Reed Trimble double...CF Omar De Los Santos tied the game for Brooklyn in the top of the seventh with a three-run home run...Aberdeen regained the lead on a 1B Carlos Rodríguez sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh...Cyclones had the bases loaded and two out with De Los Santos coming to the plate when the game was halted...After a 20-minute delay, the game was called...LHP Zach Thornton started the resumption by striking out four over 3.0 innings of two-run, four-hit ball in his High-A and Cyclones debut...Saturday's scheduled game was also postponed due to the rain and will be made up on Sunday as part of the doubleheader.

 

THIS DATE IN CYCLONES' HISTORY: On August 4, 2001, the Cyclones fell at home to the Lowell Spinners, snapping a 19-game home winning streak that dated back to June 29...Brooklyn fell five wins shy of matching the Minor League Baseball record of 24 consecutive home victories set by Wichita in 1922...In 2003, on the 55th anniversary of his first broadcast with the Brooklyn Dodgers, Hall-of-Fame announcer Ernie Harwell returned to Brooklyn and assisted Warner Fusselle on the radio...In 2005, 2B Kazuo Matsui went 0-for-3 with two walks and an RBI in a Major League rehab game before C Drew Butera provided the walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the 11th that night in a 5-4 win vs. Vermont...In 2006, the Cyclones beat Tri-City, 9-5, for their franchise-record-tying 12th-straight win...Skipper George Greer's squad tied the franchise mark set during the inaugural 2001 campaign...In 2009, Brooklyn played one of the highest-scoring games in franchise history, picking up 14 hits in a 15-11 win at Batavia...In 2011, RHP Dillon Gee's No. 20 was honored at then-MCU Park before a 5-1 loss vs. Williamsport.


ROSTER MOVE: RHP Alan Perdomo was added to Brooklyn's roster on Sunday from Single-A St. Lucie...The 22-year-old made one appearance with the Cyclones in Game 2 of a doubleheader on April 13 vs. Asheville, earning the win after tossing 1.2 innings of scoreless relief...In 24 appearances (one start) in the Florida State League, Perdomo was 2-1 with a 3.74 ERA (18 ER in 43.1 IP), three saves, 17 walks, and 33 strikeouts...The right-hander has accrued a 1.19 ERA (3 ER in 22.2 IP) over his last 12 outings (one start) since June 9 and has not allowed a run in his last 7.1 innings since July 23...Perdomo was acquired by the New York Mets from the Colorado Rockies in the Minor League phase of the 2023 Rule V Draft.
