As reported by Anthony DiComo and Tim Healey on Twitter, Buck Showalter has stated that Jacob deGrom has a tight right shoulder and may not start tomorrow.
Jacob deGrom probably will get an MRI on his right shoulder tomorrow if he does not pitch, Showalter said. https://t.co/ChnDhwCmSe

Obviously not ideal a week out from Opening Day.
Showalter said deGrom felt some tightness in his right shoulder while playing catch on Thursdayhttps://t.co/gKixMpWzG4 pic.twitter.com/l4IqeSpW8p

Even if this "tight shoulder" isn't anything significant with deGrom, coming off all the stops and starts of last year it makes you wonder if he's always going to have issues of some sort. He's not young anymore, after all.

For all of the positive moves the Mets made this winter, much of their fortunes still very much rely on the right arm of Jacob deGrom.

Hopefully it’s nothing, but obviously not the news you’re looking for a week away from the season starting. https://t.co/8zmCSIyL4V
“I’ll be surprised if he pitches tomorrow."

Just like that, Jacob deGrom's status for Opening Day is very much in doubt. @ladsonbill24 with the quick update:https://t.co/IztlHtXweS
