The Mets lost today, 8-4 to the Astros. José Quintana allowed five earned runs. Francisco Lindor was 2-for-2. Jeff McNeil is 1-for-9 in games that don't matter and probably won't sleep for a week because of it.

The Mets are 2-3 in Grapefruit League play.
José Quintana recorded only two outs in his Grapefruit debut this afternoon. He allowed five runs, including a booming two-run homer from David Hensley that hit halfway up the batter's eye in straightaway center. Quintana, the Mets' presumptive fourth starter, threw 30 pitches.

- Zach Greene could be an intriguing middle relief piece for the 2023 Mets - "Greene does have something else going for him; everyone he’s competing against, save Nogosek, has minor league options remaining...the Mets could very well justify keeping him on the roster to get a longer look at him in the majors while sending other players down to Triple-A."
Mets360:
- Mets Minors: Offseason deep dive on Dominic Hamel: "Buzz words like “Spin Rate” are very big in the scouting community but what they amount to is movement. Hamel generates good movement on his pitches and it is this, rather than his velocity that get him strikeouts."
