Anthony DiComo MLB.com: Sean Manaea, one of baseball's top pitchers in the second half of the season, intends to opt out of the $13.5 million option on his contract and become a free agent, a source said Saturday. The team has not confirmed...His opt-out decision will likely prompt the Mets to extend him a qualifying offer, which is a one-year contract worth $21.05 million. If Manaea rejects that, which is likely, the Mets would receive Draft pick compensation in the event he signs elsewhere."
Clutchpoints: Jon Heyman sets the record straight on Juan Soto free agency rumor One Tweeter on X said that Jon Heyman reported that the Mets offered Juan Soto $660 million over 6 years which Jon quickly refuted.

Kevin Kernan Ballnine: PFP (Pitching Fielding Practice) Never Lies. "The Yankees were assembled as a team of stars and youngsters who hit home runs, a team that does not lean on fundamentals. The Yankees base-running throughout the World Series was Keystone Kops-like as well."
Bill Madden: Yankees’ fatal flaws exposed in World Series loss to Dodgers. "As horrific as that Game 5 fifth inning was, it was not something out of character for this Yankee team that has been one of the most fundamentally and defensively challenged teams in baseball for quite a while now."
