Duda...came up short on a diving attempt, and the ball bounced past him for a double, Swisher’s 1,000th career hit...Ibanez lined the next pitch barely over the fence in the right-field corner for his 11th homer, tying the score at 3...That was it for Young, who had an RBI single in the sixth. One out later, Chavez sliced an 0-2 pitch from Jon Rauch (3-7) into the left-field corner for his first career pinch-hit homer..."

The exchange quickly degenerates as P Jason Vargas also gets involved and threatens to knock out the journalist while Callaway shouts for him to leave the clubhouse, using choice profanities.

NY Post: "Callaway was bombarded with questions about his bullpen use prior to his run-in with Healey. Callaway opted to stick with a tiring Seth Lugo instead of going to closer Edwin Diaz in the eighth inning. Javier Baez proceeded to hit a game-deciding three-run homer off Lugo...'Mickey came out of his office, dressed, and I thought he was leaving for the day, so I said, ‘See you tomorrow, Mickey.’ And then he said, ‘Don’t be a smart-a–,' said Healey"

6/23/2019 Pete Alonso hits his 27th home run of the year, breaking Darryl Strawberry’s club record for homers by a rookie. In 1983, Strawberry’s rookie year, he hit 26 home runs in 122 games. Alonso hit his 27th homer in his 77th game.

National Pastime.com: After taking Phillies right-hander Dallas Green deep, Jimmy Piersall runs around the bases in the correct order, but backward, to celebrate his 100th career home run. The Mets' outfielder, who thought of the stunt after being disappointed by the lack of attention Duke Snider's 400th round-tripper received, will be released two days later by manager Casey Stengel.
